What moderation bots protect against

The section has more than 160 apps, making it the largest subsection among tools for channels and groups. They deal with common group problems: advertising spam, bot accounts, links to scam sites, service messages about joins and leaves, forwarded posts and abuse.

The principle is usually simple. A newcomer joins the group and must press a button or solve a captcha. If they fail within the allotted time, the bot removes them. This filters out automatic spammers, as in Torminator and AntiUserbotsBot.

How to choose and set up

Do not switch everything on at once. Start with newcomer checks and one or two filters, watch how members react and add the rest when needed. Strict filters sometimes delete normal messages, so leave members a way to reach an admin.

Check which rights the bot requests. Moderation needs the rights to delete messages and ban users, but not to change group settings or add admins. Overly broad rights give the bot more power than it needs and raise the risk if it is hacked.

Getting started and what to remember

Open a bot from the catalog right inside Telegram, with no install. Add it to your group, make it an admin with the smallest set of rights and adjust settings with a command, usually /config. Try it on a test group first.

No anti-spam tool protects fully: spammers change tactics, and captchas can be bypassed. So combine a bot with live moderators and clear rules. Do not connect unfamiliar bots with broad rights, and do not pass them member data without need.
