About this App
Someone sends you a book on Telegram, and you want to read it on your Kindle, not squint at your phone. The usual routine is slow: download the file, open email, dig up your Kindle address, attach, send.
Send to Kindle cuts that to one step. Forward the file to the bot, and a minute later it is on your device. 📚
The bot is built by Brazilian developer Gabriel RF, and its code is public under the GPL-3.0 license. About 22,000 people use it every month.
The trick behind it
Every Kindle has a personal email address. Amazon accepts documents sent there and converts them for the device, but only from addresses you have approved.
The bot acts as the mail carrier. It takes your file, or a link to one, and emails it to your Kindle from its own server. Nothing fancy, just the manual routine automated.
One-time setup
- Open the bot and send /start. It asks for two addresses: your Amazon account email and your Kindle email.
- Find the Kindle address on Amazon under Manage Your Content and Devices, then Preferences, then Personal Document Settings.
- In the same section, add the sender address the bot shows you to the approved list. Skip this and Amazon silently drops every message.
- Forward any book file to the bot and give it a couple of minutes.
If nothing arrives, the approved sender step is almost always the culprit. Check that list first. 🔧
Formats your Kindle will take
- EPUB. Best for novels, since text reflows to your font size.
- PDF. Fine for papers and manuals, though small print on a 6 inch screen gets tiring.
- DOCX, TXT, RTF and HTML. Converted into a readable book automatically.
- JPG, PNG and GIF. They arrive, though they are rarely useful.
Amazon stopped accepting MOBI by email in 2022. If your library is in MOBI, convert it to EPUB with any ebook manager first. Attachments are capped at 50 MB.
Links work too
You do not need the file in Telegram first. Send a direct download link and the bot fetches the file itself. Handy for articles, lecture notes and documents stored in the cloud.
Before you hand over a file
The bot is free and never needs your Amazon password, only the two email addresses. If anything ever asks for your password, it is not this bot.
Files pass through the developer's server. That is fine for everyday reading, but confidential work documents are better sent from your own mailbox. Read the service terms with /tos. 📖
