A spammer joins your group and posts a harmless "hi", yet their profile carries an ad link. Ordinary word filters miss this because nothing in the messages looks suspicious. BioLink Protector checks what is written in a member's profile description instead 🔍

If the bio holds a link, the bot reacts the way you set it up: mute, kick or ban.

Where profile spam comes from

Spammers learned long ago that links are banned in chat, so they moved the ad to the bio. Anyone who opens the profile sees an invitation to a channel, an affiliate offer or a shady site.

Such links lead to ad channels, affiliate offers and phishing pages. Members often tap them out of curiosity and lose time, sometimes money.

Stopping this by hand is hard: a moderator has to notice, open the profile and hand out a ban.

Three ways to react to an offender

Mute. The member stays in the group but cannot write.
Kick. The member is removed and may come back.
Ban. The member is blocked with no way back.

Pick the strictness to fit your group. A business chat does better with bans, a friendly one with a mute 🔕

Set up in three minutes

Add the bot to your group.
Make it an admin with rights to ban members and delete messages.
Send the /biolink command in the group.
Choose the action for offenders.

Without ban and delete rights the bot can do nothing, so double-check them.

A whitelist for your own people

Sometimes a good member has a link to a personal site or blog in their profile. For such cases there is a whitelist.

/whitelist adds a member to the exceptions.
/check_whitelist shows whether they are on the list.
/rem_whitelist removes them from the exceptions.

Whitelist only people you know personally: spammers can pretend to be regulars too ✅

What the bot will not do

Telegram limits what bots can see in profiles, so you should not rely on a single check. If your group gets heavy spam traffic, add newcomer protection as well: a captcha, slow mode and Telegram's built-in spam protection.

Also remember that the bot gets admin rights. Add only the original bot by its exact name, not one of the many copies on Telegram ⚠️
