About this App
You spend money every day, and logging it by hand is a chore: open an app, find the button, pick a category. SpendSummaryBot shrinks it to a single chat message. Type an amount and a category, and the spend is logged. 💰
No separate apps, no spreadsheets. The bot runs inside Telegram and supports 10 currencies.
What logging a purchase looks like
According to the bot's description, you just type an amount and a category. A number plus a word like food or taxi, for example. The bot saves the entry and adds it to your totals.
A habit sticks on speed. If an entry takes five seconds, you will keep tracking, instead of quitting after a week the way people do with spreadsheets. ✍️
Free versus Pro: who does what
Basic commands are open to everyone. The rest are marked Pro in the menu.
- /total shows an expense summary.
- /history lists all your spending.
- /setcurrency sets the display currency, and /currencies lists the 10 supported ones.
- /reset clears every record.
Pro adds category budgets (/setbudget and /budgets), a monthly report (/report), Excel export (/export), editing and deleting expenses (/edit, /delete) and search (/find).
A cap on coffee: budgets by category
The most useful Pro feature is probably the budget. You set a limit for a category, say cafes, and check against it with /budgets.
Psychologically this beats a vague "I should spend less": a limit has a number, and you can see it. Start with one or two categories where money leaks the most. 🎯
Paying for Pro with Stars
You upgrade with the /subscribe command, and payment goes through Telegram Stars, the messenger's internal currency. Check the price inside the bot before you confirm.
If your subscription drops or you switch devices, /restore recovers it and /status shows where you stand. Stars are bought with real money, so look at the amount before you pay.
The first five minutes
- Press /start and skim /help.
- Pick a currency with /setcurrency.
- Log a couple of today's purchases.
- Open /total and /history.
- Decide if you need budgets and export.
Try the free part for a week. If you look at the totals and they teach you something, Pro makes sense. If not, there is nothing to pay for.
Getting yourself to log every purchase
Log right after buying, while the receipt is still in your hand. Small items like coffee and fares cause the biggest leak because they are easy to forget.
Once a week, read the totals and find one category you can trim. A single smaller line is often enough. Keep entries lean too: category names do not need personal details. 🔒
