About this App
Someone drops a perfect line in a group chat and you want to keep it. A screenshot comes out crooked, with stray avatars and a half-cut timestamp. QuotLy takes that message and turns it into a clean sticker with the author's name, avatar and text. 😎
It is a Telegram bot with a Mini App, built around one small job: make a quote that is easy to send on. It works in private chats and in groups.
One command instead of a screenshot
Reply to the message you want with /q. You can also forward the message to the bot in a private chat and get the same result.
The bot sends back a finished sticker. Drop it in a chat, save it to Saved Messages or add it to your own pack.
- Find the message. A joke, a promise, a line that should not get lost.
- Reply with /q. In a group, the bot has to be added to the chat first.
- Grab the sticker. Forward it to friends or keep it for later.
Tweaks live inside the command
Parameters go right after /q. A number tells the bot how many consecutive messages to include, which is handy for saving a whole exchange instead of one reply.
- Background color. A color name or a hex code, and the word random picks a shade for you.
- Format. Ask for a PNG or a regular picture instead of a sticker.
- Media. If the message has a photo, you can keep it in the card or crop it.
- Quality. A separate scale setting for pictures.
The bot's help lists every option, so there is nothing to memorize.
What group admins get
Admins have extra commands. A great quote can go into the group's sticker pack, and a bad one can be removed. Over time the chat builds its own set from the best lines its members have written.
That pack becomes a shared memory: inside jokes, famous wrong predictions and the sentences everyone laughed about for a week.
Privacy and the ethics of quoting
A quote sticker shows the author's name and avatar, so think before turning someone's message into a meme. A joke between friends can read very differently to outsiders.
If the message contains personal data, addresses or work correspondence, keep it out of public chats. The bot also has anonymization modes for cases where you want the phrase without the name attached.
Who will use it
- Chat regulars. Save a good joke in a tidy format with no editor needed.
- Community admins. Build a shared sticker set out of members' lines.
- Channel owners. Style a quote for a post in one consistent look.
- Sentimental people. Pin the words of someone close in Saved Messages.
The bot reaches hundreds of thousands of users each month, and the project's source code is open. For a service that reads your messages, being able to inspect how it works is a real advantage.
