About this App
You downloaded an album and your player shows Track 01, Track 02 and Unknown Artist. Sound familiar? Music Tag Editor fixes that inside Telegram, with no desktop program: send a file, change the tags, get the finished track back 🎵
What the bot accepts
The bot description lists what it handles: tags, music, voice messages, video and albums. A file can weigh up to 150 MB.
- Music. Change the artist, title, album and other fields.
- Voice and video. The bot takes these files too, for example to pull out the audio.
- Albums. The /album command edits several files at once, up to 15 per go.
It is a small bot with about 400 people a month. Its commands are to the point, with nothing extra.
The commands in short
- /start launches the bot.
- /album turns on album editing.
- /subscription shows your subscription.
- /learn explains how to use it.
- /help gives help.
Since the bot has a subscription section, access terms are set by a subscription. Check the terms with /subscription before uploading many files.
What tags are and why you edit them
A tag is a service record inside an audio file: artist, track title, album, year, number, genre and cover art. A player reads it, not the file name. If a tag is empty or wrong, the song ends up where you do not expect it 🔎
Good tags let a player sort the collection by artist and album, show the cover and find a track in search.
Cleaning up an album
- Send /album to the bot.
- Upload up to 15 files of the album.
- Set the shared fields: artist, album, year.
- Number the tracks in the right order.
- Download the finished files and check them in your player.
Things that can bite
The bot will not take a file above 150 MB. For long concert recordings and sets, split the audio into parts. Every file passes through the bot's server, so private recordings and unreleased tracks are better edited on your own device.
- Keep the originals. Edit a copy, not your only version.
- Check encoding. Cyrillic sometimes turns into gibberish in older players.
- Respect copyright. The bot changes tags but gives no right to distribute someone else's music.
Who benefits most
People who keep music as files rather than streams: building a collection for a car stereo, an old player or a home library. Editing tags in Telegram on a phone is faster than hunting for a suitable app 🙂
Example: a playlist for the road
Say you are building a folder for a car stereo. It shows only artist and title fields and draws no covers. Then it is enough to fix those two fields on every track, and the list stops being a pile of identical lines.
Check track numbers separately: without them an album plays in alphabetical order and the finale lands at the start. That is the most common source of confusion when an album comes from different places 🚗
