About this App
Every December your feeds fill up with music app recaps, but Telegram never shipped a recap of its own. The Year Review bot fills that gap with a card about your year in the messenger that you can save or share. 🎉
It is a seasonal bot. Interest peaks in late December and drops sharply the rest of the year.
First things first: this is not Telegram
Telegram has no official year in review feature and never had one. Every bot making these cards comes from a third party developer, this one included.
That is fine in itself, but it changes how you should read the numbers. Think of it as entertainment with rough statistics, not a report from the messenger.
What the card claims to show
- Top words. The words you typed most often during the year.
- Activity. A summary of how much and where you chatted.
- Per person stats. After an update, the bot can show a year of messaging with one specific contact.
- Story viewers. The bot says it can reveal who watched your stories anonymously.
That last item raises the most questions, so let's look at it.
Anonymous viewers: the catch
Telegram does not reveal who watched stories in stealth mode. Hiding that is the whole point of stealth mode, and third party bots have no open way to get the data.
So whatever the bot shows here is best treated as a joke or a random list, not a fact. Please don't confront friends based on it. 🙃
Getting your card without regrets
- Launch. Tap Open and start the bot.
- Subscriptions. Like most bots of this type, it asks you to join a few channels before showing results. That is how it makes money.
- Permissions. Read carefully what is requested. Opening a mini app and logging in with a code are very different levels of access.
- Result. Save the card, then feel free to leave the extra channels.
If it won't load, the creators suggest trying again later or over a different network connection.
Account hygiene afterwards
Any popular bot quickly attracts fakes with lookalike names. The project's own channel warns about copies and asks users to make sure they opened the original. 🔒
- Login codes. Never type your Telegram login code or two step verification password into a third party bot or website.
- Active sessions. Open Settings, then Devices, and end any session you don't recognize.
- Two step verification. Turn it on if you haven't. It protects the account even if a code leaks.
- Channels. A week later, clean out the channels you joined just to see your results.
Follow these rules and the bot stays what it is meant to be: a fun picture to close out the year, not something to worry about. ✨
