Giftygram: a gift roulette in Telegram

Giftygram is a Telegram mini app where a roulette spins and hands out a random gift. Besides the roulette itself, directories mention points, a leaderboard, cases and a few games. 🎲

This page is for reference and is written for adults. It does not urge anyone to spin and promises no winnings. If you are under 18, or gambling is banned in your country, the app is not for you.

A roulette with a points layer

The base mechanic is familiar: launch, spin, and see the prize. On top of that sits a layer of points for activity, and players land in a shared ranking.

Points and rankings feed competitiveness. It is a strong retention trick: you want to climb higher, which means coming back tomorrow for a few more spins.

The tab that "improves your odds"

According to a directory listing, you can choose a tab before spinning that changes your chance of winning. Any choice that shifts probability deserves study in advance.

• What changes. Find out whether the chance grows for an expensive prize or only for any prize.
• What it costs. A tab with better odds usually costs more than a standard one.
• The final math. A better chance at a higher price is not automatically a better deal. Compare the price of an attempt with the expected value of a prize.

Where a gift's price comes from

Telegram gifts can be kept, transferred and sold, so they have a market price. Demand sets it, not the name on the roulette. A gift that drops can be worth less than the Stars you spent.

Selling back is not always possible: some gifts have few buyers, and fees eat part of the sum.

Why it counts as gambling

If a spin or an attempt costs Stars, you are paying for a chance. A random number generator decides the result, and the owner sets the prize distribution. The player cannot verify either.

When expensive gifts drop rarely, the operator comes out ahead over time. Nobody can guarantee you the opposite.

Rules of caution

1. Set a monthly limit whose loss will not hurt your budget.
2. Do not pay on credit or with money meant for bills.
3. Do not chase losses: the next spin does not depend on the last one.
4. Do not buy Stars from strangers or send gifts to anyone who messages you first.

A ranking as a reason to spend

A leaderboard creates a sense of a race. People spend more to keep up with others, even though the reward for a place may be modest.

Decide in advance if you need a ranking at all. If your place in the list starts to drive your spending, that is a signal to stop and revisit your limit.
