About this App
Typing every sandwich into a spreadsheet gets old by day three. Macro Minder in Telegram takes another route: snap your plate, and an AI nutritionist logs the meal, then counts calories and macros. 🥗
On top of tracking, the bot builds a personal diet plan. It all happens inside the messenger, so there is no separate app to install.
Plate, photo, done
The core idea is simple. You send a picture of your food, the bot recognizes the dish and estimates calories, protein, fat and carbs. The entry lands in that day's diary.
There is a quick route without a camera too. The /log_meal command records a meal through text, and /menu opens a menu of logging options.
Water and weight count too
A food diary alone says little. That is why the bot has separate commands for water and body weight.
- /log_water records what you drank.
- /log_weight adds your current weight so you can see a trend.
- /log_meal logs food quickly by command.
- /help and /faq explain how it works and answer common questions.
Your first five minutes
- Press /start. The bot runs a short onboarding and shows the main menu.
- Enter your details and goal. The diet plan is built from them.
- Photograph lunch. Shoot from above in good light so the dish is readable.
- Check the result. If the portion or ingredients look off, correct the entry.
How far to trust the numbers
Any calorie estimate from a photo is approximate. Portion size, cooking oil and sauces are hard to see, and errors of 10 to 30 percent are common for this type of tool.
Watch the weekly trend rather than a single figure. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or have a history of eating disorders, an AI plan does not replace a doctor or a dietitian.
Paid access and notifications
The command list includes /paysupport, a support chat with priority troubleshooting for the pay-wall. That means some features sit behind paid access, so read the terms inside the bot before you pay.
Tired of reminders? /turn_off_notifications shows how to switch them off. The project also has a Telegram community where you can ask other users questions.
The app is small, with around a hundred and seventy monthly users, so do not expect a giant community-reviewed food database. A small project often reacts faster to feature requests, though.
