Telegraph: Your Articles Under Control

Mini App • Channel Management

About this App

You wrote an article in Telegraph, closed the tab, cleared your browser, and now you cannot edit it. Sound familiar? The service does not ask you to register, so it does not know who you are and relies on browser cookies.

The official Telegraph bot fixes exactly that problem and adds a bonus: page view statistics.

Why articles get "lost" 🔑

Telegraph keeps your identity in a browser cookie. As long as you use the same browser and profile, editing works. Clear your browsing data or switch to another computer or phone, and editing access is gone.

The bot ties your articles to your Telegram account. After you log in, the service knows who you are, and your Telegram name appears in the editor.

Logging in takes half a minute

  1. Open the bot and send /start.
  2. Press the login button for this device.
  3. Check the editor: your Telegram name appears in the top right corner.

All articles you previously wrote in this browser are added to your account.

Edit from any device ✏️

Once you are logged in, you can edit articles from another computer, a phone or a new browser. You are no longer tied to a single window.

For articles written before you logged in, open them again in the same browser. The service offers to save them to your account for use on other devices.

Page views by link 📊

The second feature is statistics. Send the bot a link to any Telegraph article and it replies with the number of views. This works for any public page on the service, not only your own.

It is handy for checking reach: you posted a link in a channel and want to know whether people actually opened it.

What the bot cannot do ⚠️

It will not restore access to old pages you can no longer edit because the cookie is gone. Log in in advance, while your articles are still reachable in the browser.

It is also not a full blogging platform. Telegraph is built as a simple editor for quick publishing, without complicated settings or analytics.

What these pages are good for:

  • Long posts for a channel that do not fit in one message.
  • Guides and instructions you can link to from a chat.
  • Notes and drafts that are easy to share.
  • Project descriptions with pictures and headings.

For developers, Telegraph has an open API, which people use to build their own editors and bots.

A habit that saves you

Right after your first publication, open the bot and log in. It takes half a minute, and the article stays yours even after you change phones or clean your browser.

If you write a lot, keep a list of links to your articles in your notes so you can find the right one quickly.
