About this App
Your favorite sites publish news, and you hear about it three days later? Feedler gathers feeds in a single Telegram chat. You search for a source, subscribe, and new posts arrive on their own.
The bot speaks Russian and English, and you can switch the interface with /language.
What RSS is and why it survives
RSS and Atom are formats in which a website publishes a list of its latest posts. Subscribe and you get headlines with no ads and no algorithm deciding what to show you.
Feedler turns that format into Telegram messages. Reading a feed this way is easier than setting up a separate reader program.
What Feedler does
- Feed search. The /search command looks for RSS and Atom. The bot also finds feeds for video channels and blogs.
- Subscriptions. Open your list of sources with /subscriptions.
- Hourly refresh. New posts arrive at roughly one-hour intervals.
- Top sources. The /top5 command shows news from major sites in real time.
- Pictures from communities. The /vk command browses images from popular groups of a social network.
Subscribing in a minute
- Open the bot and call /menu.
- Type /search with a site name or topic.
- Pick a feed from the results and confirm.
- Check your list with /subscriptions.
If the feed you need does not show up, many sites list its address in their settings or in the page source.
The paid side
The bot has a paid subscription, started with /subscribe. There is also a referral program: according to the command description, inviting five people gives a month of subscription. Read the terms in the bot before paying.
The developer also accepts voluntary support through /donate. It carries no obligation.
When a feed beats social networks
On social networks you see what an algorithm decides. In RSS you see everything you subscribed to, in chronological order. That saves time and nerves, especially if you follow professional blogs and news.
There is a downside: not every site keeps a feed, and some publish only a teaser. You will have to open the full text on the site itself. 📰
Keeping the feed from becoming a dump
Subscribe carefully. Twenty sources with a dozen posts a day will bury the chat in notifications.
Start with three to five resources that matter. If a source gets noisy, unsubscribe, and mute what you do not need with Telegram's own settings. Reading stays pleasant, and the bot does not turn into an irritant.
Who will use it
People who follow industry news, blogs and site updates and want everything in their usual messenger. Feedback and wishes can be sent through /feedback.
If you need only one or two sources, subscribing another way is simpler. Feedler wins when there are many feeds.
