What the bot does

The description is short: the bot helps you receive submissions from your Tilda website in Telegram. You start it with /start, and it hands out the keys for the connection.

The bot itself draws nothing and creates no forms. It takes the data the website builder sends and brings it into a chat.

Connecting it step by step

1. Open the bot and send /start. It replies with two values: an API key and a secret key.
2. Go to the site settings in Tilda. Open the forms section, then the Telegram subsection. Paste both keys into the fields and save.
3. Wait for confirmation. If the keys are right, a chat message arrives saying the data collection service has been updated.
4. Assign the service to forms. Tilda may offer to apply it to every form on the site. You can accept or pick it manually in the form block on a page.
5. Publish the pages and send a test submission.

The test matters: it proves a request reaches you before you start spending on ads.

Leads in a team group

One person may like leads in a private chat, but a team needs a shared group. There is a catch: just adding the bot to a chat is not enough.

• Create a group or take an existing one and add the bot.
• Check the rights. The bot must not be restricted from sending messages.
• Send /start in the group. The bot gives a separate set of keys for that chat, different from your personal ones.
• Enter the new keys in the site settings as before.

The group key begins with a minus sign. If you paste your personal key, submissions will keep landing in your private chat.

When submissions do not arrive

Check in this order:

• Tilda subscription. Data collection services work only with an active plan.
• Page address. It has to match the one set in the form settings.
• Exported site. If you exported the site and host it yourself, the form cannot send data without your own script.
• Assignment. Make sure Telegram is selected as the receiver in the form block.

What to do with leads once they arrive

A fast reply wins a lot. Agree within the team who answers first and set a rule on how quickly you respond. A chat notification helps exactly there.

Get into the habit of marking handled requests with a reaction or a reply in the group. Nobody calls a customer twice, and open requests stay easy to spot. ✅

Keeping the keys safe

The bot keys give access to whatever lands in your chat. Do not post them in public places or send them to strangers. If you suspect a leak, get new keys from the bot and replace them in the site settings.

Submissions contain customers' personal data such as names, phone numbers and email. A closed group with trusted members is a better home for them than an open chat.
