Ammer Wallet: Send Crypto in Telegram

bot • Crypto Wallets

About this App

Sending a friend crypto usually means copying a long address and hoping you got every character right. The Ammer Wallet bot lets you send crypto and NFTs straight to your Telegram contacts, with no addresses involved. 💸

The bot works together with the Ammer Wallet app. The wallet itself stays in the app, while the bot handles sending and requests inside the messenger.

What kind of wallet it is

Ammer Wallet is a non-custodial multi-asset wallet from Ammer Technologies AG. Non-custodial means the keys are held by you, not by the company.

According to the developer, private keys never leave the device or go to the cloud. Access is protected by a six-digit PIN, fingerprint or face recognition, depending on the device.

Six commands in the bot

Everything is reduced to short commands. No menu to study: you only need to know what you want to do.

  • /start connect and begin sending crypto via the Ammer Wallet app.
  • /transfer create a new transfer.
  • /nft create an NFT transfer.
  • /request create a request for funds.
  • /balance check balances.
  • /disconnect disconnect the wallet from the bot.

Sending crypto to a contact

The transfer is prepared in the bot and confirmed in the app itself. That way keys never travel through the messenger.

  1. Install the Ammer Wallet app and create or import a wallet.
  2. Open the bot, press Start and link it to the app.
  3. Send /transfer and pick the recipient from your contacts.
  4. Confirm the operation in the app.

Asking for money and NFTs

The /request command is handy when you want to ask a friend for a sum: splitting a restaurant bill, say. The recipient gets a request and only has to confirm the payment.

The separate /nft command exists for collectible tokens. Check the recipient before sending: an NFT transfer, like any other, cannot be recalled.

Risks to keep in mind

Crypto transfers are irreversible. If you send to the wrong person or on the wrong network, only the recipient can return the funds, and only voluntarily.

Digital asset prices swing sharply, so the value at the moment of sending may differ from the value when the recipient sees it. Do not keep more in a wallet than you are ready to lose.

Security

Turn on a screen lock on your phone and keep the system updated. A wallet is only as protected as the device it lives on.

Never tell anyone your recovery phrase or type it into any chat. Neither support staff nor bots have any right to ask for it. 🔐

Make sure you are talking to the real bot: scammers copy wallet names and ask you to "verify" your wallet on an outside site.

If you no longer want to use the link, send /disconnect. The bot will stop working with your wallet. 🙂

The bot launched as a beta in March 2023, and its features have developed since. Before a large transfer, send a small test amount.
