Textify: Reading Assistant

You want to read in English, but hunting for the right book across sites eats the evening. Textify calls itself a reading assistant: it searches texts, shows previews and opens reading in a mini app right inside Telegram. 📚

The bot has about 195 thousand users. Its description promises fast search, with extended features available for Telegram Stars.

What is inside

• Book search. /search looks up by query.
• Library. /library shows purchased books.
• Recommendations. /recommend suggests what to read.
• Subscription. /subscribe opens unlimited downloads.
• Settings and help. /settings and /help.

The reading mini app

In the mini app you can search, preview and read without leaving the chat. That suits a phone: there is no jumping between a browser and a messenger.

A preview saves time on a book that does not fit. Read the first pages and decide if the whole thing is worth taking. 👀

What Telegram Stars are

Stars are Telegram's internal currency for paying for digital goods and services in bots and mini apps. You buy them in the Telegram app and spend them on subscriptions and purchases inside services.

What the subscription costs and what limits free mode has is shown in the bot before you pay. Buy Stars only through Telegram's official methods.

Finding your first book

1. Open the bot and send /search.
2. Type a title, an author or a topic.
3. Open the preview in the mini app.
4. Decide if you want the book and check the price if it is paid.
5. Find it later in /library.

About copyright

Books are protected by copyright. Downloading works distributed without the rights holder's permission breaks the law in many countries, and services carrying such content get shut down.

If you read for study, look for openly licensed editions and books in the public domain. English classics on that list are free and legal to get. ⚖️

Reading English with benefit

Pick a book a little below your level: you understand most of the text and do not quit on page two. Note unfamiliar words, but do not stop at every one.

Read a little every day. Ten pages daily beat a marathon once a month. A good pairing is reading a book and then listening to it in audio form. 🎧

If it does not work

Update Telegram, restart the bot with /start and check that the mini app opens. For payment questions, contact Telegram support and the bot's help section.

Pay only within the Telegram interface and never send money to outside details at a stranger's request.
