Yourcast Bot: Podcasts in Telegram

You want a podcast for the commute, but installing yet another app and hunting for an episode feels like work. Yourcast Bot moves it all into Telegram: search, listen and download without leaving the messenger. 🎧

The bot subscribes you to shows, and new episodes arrive on their own. The project's source code is open on GitHub.

Search by topic, not only by title

The /search command looks up podcasts by query. Type a topic, a host's name or a show title.

Not sure where to begin? Open /top, which lists the best podcasts.

Subscribe and forget

The main benefit: with a subscription you will not miss new episodes. Your list of shows opens with /subscriptions.

If new episodes are slow to appear, refresh your feed yourself with /update. It beats waiting.

Your own Telegram channels in the feed

The /my_tg_channels command shows the Telegram channels connected to the bot. So it works with more than a podcast catalog: it also handles channels you have added. 📡

/menu opens the main menu. The remaining commands cover housekeeping.

Listening comfortably

Podcasts suit commutes, cooking and workouts. Download an episode ahead of time if your connection is shaky on the road.

Telegram remembers where you stopped, so you can come back to an episode later. For long episodes that helps. ⏯️

Watch your phone storage: downloaded episodes take space, and Telegram lets you clear its cache in settings.

Choosing what to hear

Start with one or two shows, not ten. That way subscriptions do not turn into a queue of hundreds of unplayed episodes that only irritates you.

Try the first three episodes and decide whether the host's style suits you. If not, unsubscribe without regret. There are plenty of podcasts, and yours is out there. 🎙️

For language learning, pick shows with transcripts or short episodes of 10 to 15 minutes. It is easier to keep the habit.

The project also has an official news channel and a chat for questions. If the bot misbehaves, ask there.

Paid features are subscribed to separately, and it is better to read the terms in the bot before paying. Use the /payment command. 💳

Who it fits

People who already spend all day in Telegram and do not want one more app. Podcast fans who need simple search and subscriptions.

If you need elaborate playlists and sync across devices, a dedicated player is a better choice.
