HablaBot: Languages With an AI Tutor

Mini App • Aprender idiomas

Sobre la aplicación

La descripción aún no está disponible en tu idioma, por eso se muestra en inglés.

Words can be memorised in any app, but actually speaking is held back by the lack of someone to talk to. HablaBot takes that role: an AI in Telegram suggests phrases, you translate them into your target language, and the bot finds and corrects the mistakes 🌎

The bot description claims more than 30 foreign languages. It is a small project with a very small audience, and it works as a mini app inside Telegram.

What a session looks like

The scheme from the description is simple. The bot sends a phrase, and you write or record your translation into the chosen language. It analyzes the answer, shows the errors and helps you fix them.

Situations come from real life, so you practice what you will actually need in conversation. You can answer by text or voice message, so both writing and pronunciation get exercised 🎤

What you can work on

  • Grammar. The bot helps find and correct mistakes in word forms and word order.
  • New words. Vocabulary arrives through the phrases it offers.
  • Pronunciation. Voice answers give you a chance to practice aloud.

How long an exercise takes is up to you: answer in a minute while in a queue or work through a series of phrases in the evening.

Tailoring it to you

The bot has commands that adjust the lesson to your goals:

  1. /set_language changes the language you study.
  2. /change_level picks the difficulty.
  3. /set_style changes the bot's manner of communication.
  4. /help and /contacts show help and contacts.
  5. /start restarts the bot.

Begin at a level slightly below what you expect: it is easier to build confidence and then raise the difficulty.

What an AI tutor cannot replace

A neural network is good at fixing typical errors, but sometimes accepts unnatural phrases as correct or explains a rule imprecisely. For languages with rare writing systems and smaller languages, accuracy may be lower.

If in doubt, check a dictionary or textbook. For exams and work, live practice also helps: talking with a native speaker, reading, films ⚠️

Phrases from life, not from a textbook

Textbook dialogues often sound like nothing anyone says. Training on real situations is more useful: ordering food, asking directions, arranging a meeting, explaining a problem in a shop.

If the bot offers a phrase you will never need, freely change the topic and level. Study what you will genuinely say out loud 🗣

A good rule: after a session, invent and say two phrases of your own on the same topic.

How to study so it sticks

Regularity beats length. Ten minutes every day work better than two hours once a week.

  1. Pick one language for a month.
  2. Study at the same time each day.
  3. Write down new words and review them the next day.
  4. Alternate text and voice answers.
  5. Reread your mistakes once a week.

Project news is posted in a separate channel, which the bot profile points to 📣
