Your favorite creator posts a video in the morning, and you only see it three days later because the recommendation feed had other plans. Youtube watcher fixes that: the bot sends a Telegram message as soon as a channel you follow uploads something new. 🔔
Everything runs on four commands. There are no ten-screen settings, just a list of channels and notifications.
Four commands instead of an app
The bot describes itself simply: it lets you subscribe to channels on a video platform. The menu commands do the rest:
- /add puts a channel on your list.
- /list shows every channel the bot is watching.
- /delete removes a channel when you are done with it.
- /help opens the menu with hints.
To add a channel you usually need its link or username. Paste the address from the address bar rather than retyping the channel name, and the bot will match the right channel more reliably.
Why bother when there is a bell icon
The video platform has its own notifications, but they land in an app you may not open for days. Telegram is open for most people all day, so a message about a new video does not drown among a hundred other alerts.
Another perk: inside the bot chat you can forward a video to friends in one tap. The shortlist lives where you already talk.
What the bot does not do
It does not download videos or summarize them. It only tells you a video is out and gives you the link. 📺
For a list of a couple dozen channels that is enough. If you follow hundreds of creators, split the essential from the background: send to the bot only the ones whose uploads you cannot miss.
Building your own list
- Open the bot and send /start.
- Run /add and send a channel link.
- Repeat for the other creators.
- Check the result with /list.
- Once a month, prune the list with /delete.
If you follow many creators, mute the bot chat in Telegram settings. Notifications will pile up quietly and you can watch when you have time. 🎬
Deciding whom to add
A good rule: the bot gets creators whose videos you watch on release day. Think news in your field, weekly series, learning courses and scheduled streams.
Everything else lives happily in regular subscriptions. That keeps the bot a useful tool instead of a source of noise that makes you mute every alert in the end.
For teamwork, create a separate chat and forward important videos to colleagues, which helps when you need to follow an industry channel together.
Small things worth knowing
A tool like this checks channels at intervals. A notification may therefore arrive with a short delay rather than to the second. For catching new releases that rarely matters.
A service of this type has no reason to ask for your account password. If anyone asks you to log in through a bot, treat it as a sign of a fake, not normal behavior. 🔐
