About this App
The work chat is quiet, the family group is quiet, yet somebody is definitely drinking tea. Chayometr turns that habit into a small game: you "drink" a cup with a command, the bot counts it, and the chat sees who the tea champion of the week is.
The bot calls itself a bot for drinking tea together with friends. The interface is in Russian only, and no sign-up is required.
One cup per hour
The main command is /tea. It "drinks" a cup of tea and adds it to your score. According to descriptions of the bot, you can use it about once an hour, so spamming does not win the game.
That limit is good for the chat: play stretches across the day in small portions instead of exploding in five minutes 🍵
Every command in order
- /tea. Drink tea and add to your score.
- /me. Open your personal profile with your results.
- /stats. View statistics for the whole chat.
- /chat. See the top members of your own group.
- /top. Compare against the best players and chats elsewhere.
- /donate. Support the project with a voluntary payment.
- /help. Show the help text with the command list.
Launch a tea league in your group
For the game to work, the bot has to be in a shared chat, rather than only in your private messages. The order is simple.
- Add the bot to a group of friends, colleagues or family.
- Ask everyone to drink their first cup with /tea.
- A day later, call /chat to see who leads.
- Announce a weekly prize for the winner: a chocolate bar, or the right to choose the evening movie.
The reward is yours to invent. The bot keeps score, and real people supply the excitement 🏆
Why adults want a tea counter
Micro games like this work as social glue. They give a reason to write in the chat without a reason, to tease each other kindly and to remember the people who stay silent.
On work teams the game lightens the mood: a tea ranking gets discussed more eagerly than deadlines. In family groups it reminds relatives to check in.
Ideas for tea challenges
If a plain score feels thin, invent your own rules. A week of new varieties, where everyone writes what they brewed. Or a four o'clock tea break, when everybody sends /tea at once.
Agreements like these liven up a group more than any statistics, while the bot stays a neutral judge.
Rankings without the tension
Any contest can turn into pressure if someone takes it too seriously. Agree in the group that it is a joke, and do not turn results into a reason to mock anyone for real.
The chat stays pleasant as long as the ranking stays a game and not a report on who spends how long with a mug ☕
Tea and health
A game is a game, and counting cups for a record is not worth it. Too much strong tea in the evening can backfire, because caffeine interferes with sleep. Choose what you actually feel like drinking.
Donations in the bot are voluntary. Pay only if you want to support the author, and check the amount before you confirm 💳
