ChatBuddy: chat with strangers

Bot • Anonymous Chat

About this App

Friends are busy, you are bored, and you would like to talk to someone new without filling out a profile. ChatBuddy finds a random partner in a few seconds: send /start and you are already chatting. There is no sign-up, and your phone number and name stay hidden from the other person. 💬

The bot lives inside Telegram. It has roughly 84 thousand users, with about 52 thousand active in a month.

Your first chat in ten seconds

  1. Start the bot. The /start command begins the search for a partner right away.
  2. Type. Text and emoji work, and the directory listing also mentions images and videos that pass admin approval.
  3. Not feeling it? /next finds someone else, /end closes the conversation.

If you liked a partner, /save bookmarks them and /saved reconnects you later.

More than a text box

The command list shows far more than plain messaging. The bot is a small social playground.

  • Two-player games: /chess, /ludo and /tictactoe start a match with your partner.
  • Voice: /call proposes a voice call.
  • Conversation starters: /icebreaker gives you an opening question, /truth and /dare play truth or dare.
  • Translation: /setlang picks your language and /autotranslate turns on automatic translation, so a shared language is optional.

Confessions and trivia duels

With /post you can drop an anonymous confession into a feed, and /feed lets you read other people's. /myposts shows stats for your own posts.

If you like competition, /battle pits you against another player in trivia, and /leaderboard shows the rankings. 🏆

Points, streaks and VIP

The bot runs its own points economy. You collect points by checking in daily (/daily and the day streak in /streak), by inviting friends (/refer) and through other actions listed in /earnpoints. /mypoints shows the balance.

Points can be spent on VIP features with /vip or on the daily draw via /lottery. What VIP gives and how many points it costs is shown inside the bot, and the terms may change.

Ground rules for talking to strangers

Anonymity cuts both ways: you do not know who is on the other end. A few habits keep you safe. 🛡️

  • Keep details private: no surname, address, school, workplace or phone number.
  • Skip links from your partner and do not install apps on request.
  • Never send money or join an "investment", however touching the story sounds.
  • Report problems. /report flags a bad actor and /next gets you out of an unpleasant chat instantly.

The service is meant for adults. Minors are better off avoiding random chats with strangers.

What to expect

Random chat is a lottery. Sometimes you meet an interesting person, sometimes a silent one or a spammer. That is fine: tap /next and try again.

It works well for killing time on a commute, practising a foreign language with auto-translation, or playing a chess game against a stranger. If you want a lasting contact, share a safe way to reach you only after a long conversation, if at all.
