About this App
Telegram's round video messages are normally recorded with the camera, but what if you already have a clip you want to show as a circle? Roundy takes any video and turns it into the round format 🎥
Send a video, get a circle back. The bot has worked since 2017 and promises to finish in a couple of seconds at high quality.
What Roundy does
The bot has a single job, and that is its strength. No editing software, no settings, no export.
- Open the bot and send /start to see the menu.
- Send any video from your gallery.
- Wait a couple of seconds.
- Take the finished circle and forward it to the chat you need.
It all happens inside the conversation, with no websites and no extra apps to install.
Why a circle instead of an ordinary video
A circle feels livelier and more personal. It plays automatically as you scroll and does not fill half the screen, so people watch it to the end more often.
- Greetings. Record a clip with your voice in advance and send it as a circle.
- Channels. A short video from the archive in an unusual presentation.
- Work chats. A quick explanatory clip instead of a long text.
- Personal stories. An old video in a new format for loved ones.
Getting the best result
A circle crops the corners of the frame. Shoot so the main thing sits in the middle: a face, an object, the action. Anything at the edge simply disappears.
Square or nearly square videos work best. Wide clips lose their sides 📐
Mind the length too. Telegram video messages are limited in time (up to a minute), so trim a long clip beforehand.
If it doesn't work
If the bot stays silent, check the file size and format. Telegram may reject very heavy clips, and the bot may fail to recognise exotic formats.
Compress the video on your phone or cut the extra and send it again. If the problem stays, restart the bot with /start 🔄
Privacy
When you send a video to any bot, you hand a file to a third-party program. Do not upload clips that must not reach other hands: personal documents, intimate footage, videos of other people without their consent.
For ordinary everyday clips the risk is small, but the habit of thinking about it is useful.
And remember the people in the frame: before posting someone else's circle in a shared chat, ask permission 🙂
