About this App
In a chat of a hundred people, order keeps itself. In a group of several thousand, ad bots, scam links and floods appear overnight. NashGuard is built to take part of that routine on itself: it describes itself as a tool for smart moderation and protection of Telegram groups. 🛡
Below: how group moderation works in general, what it should cover and what to check when connecting any guardian bot.
What a group admin needs
A moderator's job comes down to a few tasks: keep spam bots out, delete unwanted messages, calm conflicts and enforce the rules. Done by hand, that eats hours.
A moderation bot exists so you do not sit in the chat around the clock. It reacts faster than a person, especially at night when admins sleep.
What group protection is made of
- Spam filter. Ads, links to outside resources and repeated messages.
- Newcomer control. Checking people who just joined, since bots enter through them.
- Flood protection. A cap on streams of identical messages in a short time.
- Rules and penalties. Warning, restriction, ban.
Which of these NashGuard offers, check inside the mini app after launch. ⚙️
Connecting a moderation bot
- Add the bot to your group.
- Make it an admin and give only the rights it needs: deleting messages and restricting members.
- Open the mini app and go through the settings once, calmly.
- Turn on rules gradually and watch results for a week.
Do not give the bot more rights than necessary. Extra permissions only raise the risk if something goes wrong with the bot. 🔐
Avoiding needless bans
Strict moderation sometimes hits regular members: someone just shared a link and the bot decided it was spam. That annoys people and drives the audience away.
Start with soft measures: a warning and message deletion. Use bans only for clear violations. It helps when members have a way to contact an admin. 🙋
Group rules come first
Any automatic moderator works better when the group has clear rules. Pin them at the top of the chat: what is forbidden, what gets punished and where to write if a mistake happens.
When members know the rules, the bot looks like a helper rather than a censor. Review the settings from time to time: group topics change, and rules should be updated with them.
