About this App
Standard Telegram blue gets old in a couple of months. You want the messenger to look like your favorite shot: a sunset, your city, your pet. The Themes and Languages bot builds a theme from your photo, and adds a few other nice touches along the way. 🎨
You install nothing. It all happens in the chat with the bot, and you apply the finished theme with one tap.
A theme from a single picture
The bot's main command is /theme. According to public directories, it analyzes the image you upload, finds the dominant colors and assigns them to key interface elements.
- Send /theme.
- Upload the photo you want the palette from.
- Receive the theme file and apply it in Telegram settings.
- If you dislike the result, try another image: the style and mood come out different every time.
No design experience is needed, and you do not have to adjust colors by hand.
Every command in the menu
The menu holds just a few items, and each one is useful.
- /start opens the main menu.
- /theme creates a theme.
- /catalog shows a catalog of ready-made themes.
- /paired_avatar makes matching avatars for two people.
- /create_lang creates a language pack.
- /emoji opens the emoji section.
- /lang switches the bot's own language.
A catalog for the lazy
If you have no suitable photo or want a quick test, open /catalog. It holds ready themes you can install at once. It is a good way to learn which color combinations you like, then make a similar theme from a photo.
Matching avatars and emoji
Paired avatars suit friends, couples and families: two halves of one picture that click together when placed side by side. Choose an image with a clear composition so both halves look good on their own.
The emoji section adds more variety to your look. The bot shows details and options inside. 😻
Applying a theme without confusion
Telegram has supported themes for a long time. You open them through the appearance section of settings. File formats differ between platforms, so if a downloaded theme will not apply, check that you opened it on the kind of device it was made for.
- Phone. Open the theme file and tap Apply.
- Computer. Choose themes meant for the desktop version.
- Rollback. You can return to the default look in the same settings.
Tips and caution
Dark and contrasty photos make readable themes, while busy or light ones are often hard on the eyes. Before you adopt a theme for daily use, read a few messages in it.
Do not send the bot personal photos you would hate for strangers to see. Upload wallpapers, scenery and pictures without people. The bot's audience is in the hundreds of thousands according to the directory, and questions can go to the contacts in its profile.
