Countries Corporation: chats by country

Moved to a new country, landed on vacation, or just want to find neighbors in your city? Countries Corporation works like a map that doubles as a menu: pick a country and land in local chats. 🗺️

The bot describes itself as "like a map, but like a menu. Click anyway!". The idea is that if a city is on the map, there is a group chat for it.

One command and the whole world

The bot has a single command: /start, labeled "Choose Country". After that you move by buttons: first the country, then the city, then the group.

No search queries and no guessing names. You go from general to specific, like a catalog, and find the right chat quickly.

Who gets the most out of it

• People relocating. Questions about paperwork, housing, transport and schools are best asked of people who already live there.
• Travelers. A local chat tells you where to eat, how to get around and what to avoid.
• Expats. Meetups, swaps, everyday tips and new friends.
• The curious. It is fun to see what other cities talk about.

Finding your chat

1. Open the bot and press Start.
2. Choose a country from the list.
3. Find your city or the nearest one.
4. Join the group and read the pinned rules.

Check the pinned post before your first message. Most city chats have rules about language, advertising and the format of listings.

Manners in someone else's chat

City groups run on trust. Introduce yourself in one line, say why you joined and ask specific questions. "Where in Belgrade do I register a residence permit?" gets an answer faster than "Help with documents." 💬

Do not spam ads or ask for money on day one. Such messages get deleted, and the author may be removed.

Caution first

A Telegram group is open to anyone, and that includes scammers. Beware of "unseen" apartment rentals and "great" currency exchange deals. ⚠️

Never prepay strangers. Verify housing documents and employers through official sources.

Do not post your home address, photos of documents or your daily commute. Hundreds of strangers read a city chat.

What the bot does not do

It is a directory, not a moderator. It leads you to groups but does not control what is written in them. The quality of conversation depends on the chat and its admins.

If a group is not for you, leave and pick another. Big cities usually have several chats with different themes. Try searching by interest, not only by place.
