About this App
A sheet of squared paper, two pens and a school break: that is how many people first learned what "B5, miss" means. Now the same game fits in a chat. Battleship in Telegram launches without an install, and your opponent can be a friend or a random player ⚓
About twenty-six hundred people play the mini app each month. The game is built for two humans, so you are not stuck beating a computer.
Two ways to start
For friends: open the game, place your fleet and send the link to a buddy. The battle begins as soon as they join.
For solo moments: the /fg command looks for a random rival. The match starts once someone is found 🎲
The rules everyone remembers
Classic Battleship uses a 10 by 10 grid, and players shoot in turns. Hit a ship and you fire again. Miss, and the turn passes to your opponent.
The classic fleet looks like this:
- One four-deck ship. The biggest target.
- Two three-deck ships. Easy to notice, but they can be hidden cleverly.
- Three two-deck ships. Mid-sized and flexible.
- Four single-deck ships. The easiest to tuck away.
Ships may not touch each other, not even diagonally. If the game uses different settings, on-screen hints explain them.
What keeps it fun
The app has ranks and a player rating, so matches add up to a small career. You can switch the visual theme if the default gets dull 🎨
Use /support for questions and complaints. /start brings you back to the main menu.
Placing your fleet
- Do not cram everything into a corner. Many players sweep the edges first, so keep your battleship away from them.
- Leave gaps. Ships far apart are harder to find with a run of shots.
- Change layouts. If a friend remembered your setup, the next match needs a different one.
- Park a couple of singles in the center. Experienced rivals do not expect them there.
Hunting enemy ships
Shoot every other square on a diagonal pattern. That grid is guaranteed to touch any ship two decks or longer. After a hit, fire at neighboring squares until the ship sinks.
A sunk ship is surrounded by empty squares, so cross those out at once and save your shots 🎯
Who it suits
Couples and friends who want a quick game on a break. Families with kids who like simple rules. Anyone who misses the paper version and does not want to hunt for a pen.
One match takes a few minutes, which makes it perfect for a queue, a commute or a short work break 🙂
