Annonymous Chat: talk without a name

Sometimes you want to talk to someone who does not need to know your name, your city or your surname. Annonymous Chat is a bot for anonymous conversation in Telegram. Its profile greets visitors with a short line in Indonesian, and the audience is real: about fifteen thousand people use it each month. 💬

The profile has no long description or command list, so the best way to meet the bot is to press Start and go through the first screens. It will show everything you need to begin.

Why people want a listener without a face

Anonymity takes away the fear of being judged. It is easier to talk about worries, awkward questions or a bad day with someone who does not know you and will not meet you in the hallway tomorrow. Sometimes it is simpler than that: you just want to chat with no strings attached.

There is a flip side. If nobody knows who you are, the person on the other end can be anyone. Keep that in mind from the first minute.

What an anonymous bot really hides

To the other person you hide behind a nickname or no name at all. The bot's operator, though, can technically see more: the account you came through and the messages passing through the bot's server. "Total anonymity" is therefore a polite promise, not a guarantee. ⚠️

Messages inside a bot are not the same as Telegram's secret chats between people. A conversation through a bot has no special protection from its operator.

Ground rules for a safe talk

1. Do not share real details. Surname, school, workplace, address and phone number are not needed for a chat.
2. Do not send personal photos. Explicit pictures can end up in other hands for good.
3. Do not open the other person's links. Accounts and money get stolen through them.
4. Do not send money. Any request for cash, gifts or Stars is a reason to end the talk.
5. Leave when it feels wrong. Politeness to a stranger is not an obligation.

If you are under eighteen

Anonymous chats include adults looking for contact that does not suit your age. Teenagers are better off not having such conversations without their parents knowing, not giving their age and not agreeing to meet or move to another messenger.

If the other person writes something frightening, makes improper offers or pushes you, stop the dialogue and tell a trusted adult. Use a report button if the bot has one.

When the bot does not answer

If nothing happens after Start, wait a minute and press the command again. Check that you did not block the bot earlier and update Telegram.
