You want to put on an episode of your favorite anime without opening yet another website that throws ten pop-ups at you. Anime Streaming tries to fix exactly that: you watch titles inside Telegram, in the same window where you chat with friends. 🎌
The bot has its own news channel and a discussion group, so the author posts updates and users can ask questions.
Press play without leaving the chat
The flow is short. Send /start, pick an anime, pick an episode, and the video arrives in the conversation. There is no separate player to install and no account to create on a third-party portal.
On a phone this is handy. Telegram is already installed, the video opens in a familiar interface, and your progress stays visible in the chat history.
- Watching in chat: episodes and movies arrive right in the dialog.
- Downloads: episodes and films can be saved to your device.
- Several languages: according to the bot's channel, English and Italian came first, and Spanish was added later.
Your watch list updates itself
The most unusual feature is the link to an anime tracker account. The /mal_login command takes a username and password, and after that every episode you watch is sent to your list.
If you have kept such a list for years, this saves effort. You no longer mark by hand where you stopped. 📋
Typing a password into a chat: how careful to be
This part needs care. The example command in the bot's profile shows that the login and password go straight into the conversation. Any bot that receives your password can, in theory, use it.
Before linking anything, do this:
- Create a separate password for the tracker that you do not use for email or social networks.
- If you change your mind after linking, change the password on the tracker's site.
- Delete the message with the command from the chat so the password does not sit in your history.
You can also skip the tracker entirely. Watching and downloading work without it.
Where the video comes from and what that means for licensing
Official streaming services buy rights from studios and charge for access. Telegram bots usually work differently: episodes are uploaded to channels and chats, and the bot helps you find them. Material like that is often posted without the rights holders' consent.
For a viewer this has three consequences. Video quality and dubbing depend on whoever uploaded the file. Episodes can disappear after complaints. And the legal side in your country is your own responsibility.
If you love a series, a licensed subscription supports its creators and gives steady quality. The bot makes sense as a backup when an episode is nowhere else. 🎬
Before you press start
- Similar names: Telegram has many anime bots with nearly identical usernames. Compare the bot's address with the one listed in the author's channel.
- Links inside the chat: do not follow outside links or enter payment details if the bot ever asks for them.
- Stability: this is a small project, and its channel has mentioned temporary breaks in service. If the bot stays silent, check the news channel.
This is a fan-made bot with no big studio behind it, so expect a lively but imperfect experience.
Getting more out of it
Start playback on Wi-Fi. Episodes in good quality take hundreds of megabytes, and mobile data disappears fast. If you are about to travel, download a few episodes ahead of time.
Keep your watch history in the tracker too. That way you always know where you stopped, even if the bot changes its address or goes offline for a while. 🍿
