About this App
Coffee, a cab ride, rent: spending happens on the move, and writing it all down in the evening feels like homework. Zenmoney Bot turns a chat into a remote control for your money tracking, so you can check a balance or recent transactions without opening the app. 💳
The bot works together with the Zenmoney app for personal finance. Without an account in the app it knows nothing about your money, and that is by design.
App first, bot second
The bot does not stand alone. You install the Zenmoney app on iOS or Android (or use the web version) and set up your accounts. Then you find the bot connection line in settings and authorize it.
From that point the bot sees your accounts and transactions and answers questions about them. If the link breaks, repeat the authorization from the app settings.
Six commands for daily use
The menu is short and clear:
- /accounts lists your accounts with balances.
- /balance reports the available amount.
- /trans shows recent transactions.
- /analytics breaks down income and expenses.
- /upcoming_payments reminds you of payments coming soon.
- /export_plan exports your plan to an online spreadsheet.
The list can grow, and the chat menu always shows current commands. According to the service's help pages, some reports come with a subscription.
Logging an expense in ten seconds
The best defense against forgotten spending is to record it right away, while you still remember. The bot accepts entries directly in the chat, and the entry format is described in the service's help section.
Adding each purchase during the day saves more effort than trying to recall everything on Sunday night. 📝
Upcoming payments without surprises
The most annoying expense is the one you forgot about. Internet, a loan, subscriptions, rent: the /upcoming_payments command gathers the nearest charges into one list.
Look at it at the start of the week and compare it with your balance. If money is tight, you have time to move or postpone something.
Analytics in two taps
The /analytics command is there to answer one question: where did the money go. Once a week, open the breakdown and look for a category that grew for no good reason.
It is often subscriptions, food delivery or small purchases that are invisible one by one. Spot the skew and set yourself a limit for next week. The spreadsheet export helps when the budget is discussed at home with family. 🧮
A note on safety
Financial data is sensitive. A few simple rules:
- Connect the bot only through the settings of the official app.
- Do not forward balance screenshots to group chats.
- If you lose your phone, disable the bot authorization and change your account password.
- Never type card details or SMS codes into the chat. The bot does not ask for them.
You can mute notifications in Telegram itself through the chat menu. 🔒
Who gets the most from it
People who already track their money and want to do it faster. Or people who gave up on spreadsheets because opening them is a chore, while the messenger is open all day anyway.
The bot will not replace the app: categories, budgets and goals are still managed there. The daily small stuff moves into the chat. 📊
