Reading a story is nice, but being the hero is better, especially when you write the plot. CharmyAI is an AI app in Telegram for role-play stories: you choose or describe characters, and a neural network plays them and steers the plot with you. Its motto: "A story where anything goes". 💖

The app is meant for adults: the authors state there is no censorship, so stories may contain 18+ themes.

Your own novel or favorite heroes

The idea comes in two forms. You can create your own novel and become its main character. Or you can bring a favorite character to life and talk to them.

It works as a dialogue: you write a line or an action, the AI answers in character and pushes the story forward. The more detail you give about the hero and the world, the more coherent the story gets. 📖

• /save stores a character, and /choose loads it back.
• /del erases the last two messages: handy when an AI reply went badly.
• /del_all clears the character's memory completely.
• /things adds details to the story.
• /sub opens all features by subscription, and /gift lets you give a subscription to someone else.
• /menu opens settings in the mini app.

Character memory: a working trick

Language models have a short memory: in a long dialogue they forget details. So it helps to remind them of the essentials with /things now and then and to save successful heroes with /save.

If the talk hits a dead end, /del removes the latest lines and /del_all gives a clean slate. That makes the tone of the story easier to steer. ✂️

Another trick: at the start, state the genre, the age of the heroes, the setting and the tone you want. One short paragraph of starting conditions saves a dozen lines that would otherwise go on explanations. If the plot stalls, suggest an event: a guest arrives, a letter turns up, a sudden storm hits.

What about money

Some features are opened by a subscription (the /sub command). Prices and terms are not given in the description, so check them on the payment screen and decide in advance how much you are willing to spend. A gifted subscription (/gift) is paid as well.

Freedom and its limits

No censorship means more creative freedom and more responsibility. Do not use the real names of people in explicit scenes, and do not create characters who read as minors in such a context. That is ethically unacceptable and illegal in many countries.

2. Do not send other people's photos.
3. Assume the service owner can see the conversation.
4. Watch the clock: interactive stories are sticky.
