What kind of junk it clears

According to directory listings, the bot removes several kinds of spam from a chat: third-party bots, stickers, links, photos, files and more.

You decide what counts as junk in your group. In a work chat that may be stickers and pictures, while a fan community may want those very stickers.

Two ways to control it

Chat commands. An admin types commands right in the group.
A web interface. Settings can be changed on the website of the platform the bot runs on.

Set your rules and test them on a small number of messages.

Without the right to delete messages the bot cannot clean the chat. Do not give it more: it needs nothing extra.

Building rules without overdoing it

Filters that are too strict irritate members. If you delete every link, people cannot share useful material.

Start with the most obvious things: unwanted bots and mass mailings. Switch on the rest as needed and watch how the chat reacts 🙂

When something goes wrong

Check admin rights first: they are the usual cause. Then make sure the right filter is on and does not clash with another one.

Keep a short written note of your settings so you can restore them quickly after changes.
