About this App
You have a funny piece of video or a favorite GIF and want to send it to friends with one tap, like a sticker. But Telegram accepts video stickers only in a strict format, and an ordinary clip will not fit. Video Stickers takes that chore off your hands. 🎞️
The bot's pitch is very simple: it converts videos and GIFs into video stickers. You send a file and receive a result in the right format.
Why you cannot just upload a clip
Telegram video stickers have tight technical limits. The format is WebM with the VP9 codec, no sound, up to 3 seconds long, and a file of no more than 256 KB. One side of the frame must be exactly 512 pixels, and the other no larger.
It is easy to break these rules: an ordinary MP4 is many times heavier and longer. That is why a converter is needed. ⚙️
How to use the bot
- Start the bot with /start.
- Send it a short video or GIF.
- Wait while the bot processes the file.
- Receive your finished video sticker.
The /help command shows hints and /about tells you about the bot. /start also works as a check that the bot is alive.
Preparing the source
The result depends on the source quality. The simpler the picture, the better it compresses to fit the 256 KB limit.
- A short fragment. Pick the most expressive 2 or 3 seconds.
- A plain background. Flat or low detail backgrounds compress better.
- A close shot. Fine details are invisible on a sticker anyway.
- A loop. If the end flows into the start, the sticker looks nicer.
Adding the sticker to a pack
You upload the finished file to a pack through Telegram's own official sticker service. It accepts video stickers with the /newvideo command, after which you name the pack and upload files one at a time.
- Open the official sticker service in Telegram.
- Choose video pack creation with /newvideo.
- Pick a name for the pack.
- Upload the file and assign an emoji to the sticker.
If a file is rejected, check its size and duration: that is the usual cause. 🔍
A word on copyright
Clips from films, series and bloggers' videos are other people's content. For a private pack among friends this usually passes quietly, but publishing such stickers publicly, let alone earning from them, is risky.
The safest route is making stickers from your own videos. They are entirely yours and raise no questions about rights. ✅
What to know about this bot
The bot is small and narrow, but it does one job. Its profile lists a developer channel and a support contact. If the result disappoints you, try trimming the source yourself and send it again.
Do not send the bot videos with personal information such as passports, documents or private moments. Process only clips you would be comfortable showing to other people. 🔐
