Short video downloader bot

Found a funny clip in your feed, but it cannot be saved, or it comes with a watermark? This bot downloads short videos from a popular short video platform. You send a link and the bot returns a file. 📹

The bot has gathered more than four hundred thousand users, and over five hundred thousand people use it monthly. A simple idea clearly fits many needs.

How it works

It comes down to three actions. You open the clip in the platform's app, copy its link and send it to the bot. The bot processes the address and delivers the video as a chat message.

1. Copy the link with the Share button on the clip.
2. Open the bot and press /start.
3. Paste the link into a message and send it.
4. Wait for the file and save it to your phone or forward it.

Only two commands

The bot is simple on purpose, with nothing extra in the menu:

• /start restarts the bot if it hangs or stops answering.
• /lang changes the interface language.

If the bot does not answer, do not send the same link ten times. Press /start first and wait a few seconds. 🔄

People download clips for more than entertainment. You may want to keep a recipe, an exercise, a tutorial or a friend's video to rewatch offline. It is also useful for sending a clip to someone who does not have the platform's app.

Someone else's copyright

The video belongs to its creator. Saving a clip for personal viewing is far from posting it on your page as your own. A repost without permission or credit can break platform rules and the law.

If you want to use someone's video in a blog or an ad, ask the creator for consent and keep the correspondence. That protects both of you.

When the link fails

• The video is private. The bot cannot reach private clips or restricted accounts.
• The video was deleted. If the creator removed it, it can no longer be downloaded.
• The link is incomplete. Copy the address again via Share.
• The bot is overloaded. Try again later.

Be careful with links

Never type your platform login or password into any third-party bot. Downloading from a public link needs no password from you. If someone asks for it, close the chat. 🔒

Quality and file size

The video arrives as a regular file in the chat, so it takes up phone storage. If you save many clips, clear Telegram's cache in settings now and then, or the memory will fill quickly.

Quality depends on the original clip. If the creator uploaded low resolution, the bot cannot sharpen it. For phone viewing that is usually enough. 📱

Need only the sound? Download the video and use your phone's tools, but remember the copyright on the music inside the clip.
