About this App
Your friends live in WhatsApp, but your favourite sticker collection lives in Telegram. 😄 The Telegram => WhatsApp bot fixes exactly that awkward gap: it sends stickers from one messenger to the other.
The bot description says it plainly: it can send stickers from Telegram to WhatsApp. Everything else in it serves that one job.
Five commands and nothing extra
The bot menu is short:
- /start. Launches the bot.
- /setup. Begins the setup that links to WhatsApp.
- /me. Shows information about your profile in the bot.
- /update. Lets you change your phone number.
- /help. Prints the command list.
There are no complex modes, so you can figure it out in a couple of minutes.
The order of steps
- Open the bot and press /start.
- Run /setup and go through the setup steps.
- If your number changed, use /update.
- Send the bot a sticker and receive it in WhatsApp.
The bot shows the exact steps in the dialog and they can change, so follow the prompts in the chat. Access may require an invitation key mentioned in its profile. 🔑
Why stickers do not move by themselves
Messengers use different formats. A WhatsApp sticker is a WebP image of 512 by 512 pixels, and a static sticker has to stay small in file size. Telegram also has animated and video stickers in other formats.
So simply saving the picture and sending it often fails: it arrives as an ordinary image, or as a broken sticker. The bot does that conversion for you. 🎯
How many stickers to move
The bot exists to transfer stickers, not to chat. To build your own set, send it the stickers you really like. Do not try hundreds at once. Small batches are easier and more reliable.
About your phone number
The bot has a command for updating your number, so setup uses it. A phone number is personal data and deserves care.
Think about whom you trust before typing it. The project has open source code according to its description, and that is a plus because anyone can inspect it. Still, the running version of a bot can differ from the published one, so nothing is guaranteed. 🔐
Do not enter SMS verification codes unless you understand why they are needed. A WhatsApp login code is meant for nobody but you.
When it helps
- Split chats. Friends in one messenger, family in another.
- Favourite sets. You want the same pictures everywhere.
- Switching. You are gradually moving between messengers and want to keep your stickers.
Sticker art belongs to its authors. Personal use is usually fine, but posting someone else's set as your own is not.
