Before you buy an ad in a channel, you want to know how many real readers it has, not a pile of inflated numbers. Or you run a channel and cannot tell why yesterday's post got a third of the usual views.

4. Compare the figures with whatever the channel owner tells you.

Which metrics deserve your attention

There are plenty of numbers, but only a few drive decisions. These are the useful ones:

• Subscriber trend. Smooth growth looks natural. A sharp one-day spike followed by a drop often means bought followers or a one-off promotion.
• Post reach. How many people actually saw a post. For advertising, this matters more than the raw subscriber count.
• Average ad reach. Views a post collects within 12 hours, a day and two days. Handy for judging whether a placement price is fair.
• Citation index. Shows how often others mention the channel or repost its material 📊

Spotting a real channel versus a padded one

Compare reach with subscribers. If a channel claims 50,000 readers and a typical post is seen by two thousand, the audience is likely dead or purchased.

Look at the history as well. When did growth start, and does it match a viral post or an ad campaign? A healthy channel grows in response to specific events.

Who tends to use it

Three kinds of people reach for this bot most often.

• Advertisers and marketers. They vet a channel before paying.
• Channel admins. They track their own growth and measure it against similar channels.
• Curious readers. They want to see how popular a channel they follow really is.

Limits worth knowing about

The figures are built from open data and the platform's own measurements. Private channels and chats expose less, and exact data such as joins and traffic sources is visible only to the owner inside the channel settings ⚠️
