About this App
An idea for an article arrives on the road, and your laptop is an hour away. You would like to jot the post down now before the thought goes. Teletype Bot does that. It belongs to Teletype, a platform where people write blogs and articles. ✍️
Despite the name, it is not a messenger for chatting with people. Its job is to help authors run a blog and link it to a Telegram channel.
Log in with one command
First the bot ties your Telegram to your platform account. The /login command signs you in or registers you, and from then on the bot knows which blog to open.
If you already have a blog, link Telegram in its settings. After that, signing in takes a couple of taps and no password.
A post written in a chat
The most useful command is /new_post. You write the material in the bot chat and it appears in your blog. The bot handles text, images and links, and can turn links into widgets.
If a post went wrong, /delete_post removes it. /cancel stops the current action when you change your mind halfway. 🗑️
Your channel on autopilot
The /connect_channel command links your Telegram channel to the blog. Posts from the blog can then go to the channel: the bot asks for permission to post, so you decide whether each one is sent.
For an author this saves effort. You write once, and the text is read both on the blog and in the channel feed. 📣
The other commands
- /me shows your blog.
- /notifications opens notification settings.
- /help prints a command reference.
Post settings such as privacy, auto publishing and tags can be managed as well. See the bot for the exact list, since it follows the platform.
Getting started step by step
- Open the bot and send /login.
- If you already have a blog, link Telegram in the platform settings.
- Write your first post with /new_post.
- Connect a channel with /connect_channel if you want publications duplicated there.
- Set up alerts under /notifications.
Why keep a blog next to a channel
A channel lives in a feed, and old posts sink fast. An article in a blog stays reachable by its address, search engines can find it, and readers can return to it a year later.
So the pairing makes sense: the channel brings readers, and the blog stores long pieces. Do not publish openly anything you do not want everyone to see, and check a post's privacy before sending. 🔒
