Sticky: The Sticker Reply Bot

Bot • Fun & Entertainment

About this App

The group chat has gone quiet. A joke or two, and the conversation died. Add Sticky (called Стикольщик in Russian) and every message gets a funny sticker in reply. It will not be offended if you do not get why it picked that one. 😄

It is an entertainment bot that talks only in stickers and GIFs. It offers little practical use, but plenty of mood.

Every message gets a sticker

Per its description, the bot answers any message with a sticker. You can, and should, add it to group chats, where it works best.

It also replies in private messages, so you can see how it behaves without bothering friends.

How many stickers is too many

If the bot reacts to every line, a chat soon turns into a stream of pictures. The /chance command takes a number from 1 to 100, the probability that the bot answers a message.

  • /chance 100 means it always answers.
  • /chance 20 means roughly every fifth message.
  • /chance 5 gives rare, surprising replies.

For a lively chat, start low and raise the value if members enjoy it. 🎲

Teaching the bot your taste

The bot does not impose taste. You rate the stickers it sends, using a few voting commands.

  • /upvote asks to show a chosen sticker or animation more often.
  • /downvote asks to show it less often.
  • /ban files a complaint about a sticker or animation.
  • /gifswitch turns GIF sending on or off.

These commands help in chats with mixed audiences: drop what annoys and keep what makes people laugh. 🙂

Settings for admins

To stop members from changing the reply rate at will, an admin can use /locksettings. After that only admins can change the settings.

The bot's language is changed with /setlanguage. The help text lives under /help.

Sticker search and stats

The /search command helps find a sticker set, and /stats shows statistics for the month. There is also /donate if you wish to support the developer.

The bot works inline as well: type its name in any chat, add a word, and it offers stickers to pick from. 🔍

Where the bot fits best

Stickers belong where people are having fun and the conversation is not critical. The bot suits friend groups, family chats and hobby communities.

  • Friends chat. An unexpected sticker in place of a reply to a silly joke.
  • Family group. A light background that eases everyday discussions.
  • Hobby chat. Questions and answers mix with jokes, and talk feels livelier.

Tip: do not set 100% right away. Give the bot two or three days at a low probability and ask members how they feel. 🎉

When it gets in the way

In a work chat where clear correspondence matters, a joking bot is a nuisance. Keep it out there, or set a very low probability.

So ask members before adding it. If most are against it, find another way to liven up the conversation.

If the bot gets tiresome, simply remove it from the chat members. Note down the probability value your chat liked, so you can return to it if you add the bot again. 📝

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Sticky do?▼
The bot answers messages with stickers and GIFs. You can add it to a group chat, and the /chance command sets how often it replies.
How do I make the bot reply less often?▼
Send /chance followed by a number from 1 to 100. The smaller the number, the less often the bot answers messages. At 100 it always replies.
Can I turn off GIFs?▼
Yes, /gifswitch turns GIF sending on or off. Unwanted stickers and animations can be shown less with /downvote or reported with /ban.
Who can change the settings in a group?▼
By default members can. An admin can restrict that with /locksettings, after which only admins can change the reply rate and other parameters.
