Shrifttop: restyle your Telegram

Telegram's default look gets old quickly. You want another colour, an unusual font in messages, an interface in your own language. The shrifttop bot collects all of that in one place.

How a theme is applied

Themes and language packs in Telegram install through built-in tools. Usually it comes down to a link or file: you tap it, and the messenger offers to apply the style.

1. Open the themes section and pick one you like.
2. Tap the theme link or file.
3. Confirm in the pop-up window.
4. If you dislike it, go back to the default theme in appearance settings.

Changes are reversible: the standard look comes back in a couple of taps.

Fonts: pretty, with caveats

Unusual "fonts" in messengers are usually made from special characters. They look striking, but that text has drawbacks.

• Search. Text built from special characters is hard to find with an ordinary query.
• Reading. For people with a screen reader it can sound like a pile of symbols.
• Display. On old devices the characters are sometimes replaced by empty boxes.

For profile names and captions that is fine. For important messages, plain text is better ✏️.

Interface language through a pack

A language pack changes the labels in the app when the translation you want is not in the standard list. It helps if you want the interface in a less common language or a playful style.

Before installing, check that the pack fits your app version, or some labels will stay in the original language.

Safety: what is fine and what is not

A theme, a font and a sticker pack need no passwords, SMS codes or account access. If the bot asks for any of those, close the chat.

Do not install files from unfamiliar sources and never forward your login code to anyone. Cooperation and placement offers go through the contact listed in the bot's profile 🔐.

Choosing a look you will not regret

A dark theme is gentler on the eyes in the evening, while a light one reads better in bright sun. If unsure, try a style for a day or two before keeping it.

Watch the contrast: pale text on a light background tires you fast. A good theme never gets in the way of reading your chats.

The same goes for stickers: pick packs you will really use, or they only clutter the list. Remove extras from time to time 🧹.
