About this App
You join a crypto chat and instead of a greeting you are asked to "verify" with a bot. Familiar scene? Safeguard calls itself a security and buy-tracking platform on Telegram, and those verification gates became its trademark. 🛡️
The bot targets token communities. It helps admins protect groups and show members token purchases in real time.
What the bot does for admins
The command list shows it is a tool for group owners. Most settings are out of reach for an ordinary chat member.
- /add. Live tracking of token buys: the group sees trades instantly.
- /setup. Setting up a portal for your group.
- /trend. Boosting a token in the trending list.
- /config. Welcome message, anti-raid protection and flood control.
- /settings. Options for the buy-tracking bot.
- /aiban. Reply with it to a spammer's message to add them to a blacklist.
Verifying new members
The bot asks a new member to pass verification to weed out spam bots. Usually it is a button press, after which you get access to the chat. ✅
The idea is sensible: spam raids are a plague in crypto groups. But the habit of tapping Start and following instructions blindly became an opening for scammers.
The main danger: impostors
The bot has many imitators with similar names. They copy the look and ask you to "confirm your identity", while actually stealing accounts and wallets. ⚠️
- Wallet connection. A fake check asks you to link a wallet, and the signature opens access to your funds.
- Running code. You are asked to paste a command into a computer terminal. That installs malware.
- SMS code. A request for the code is an attempt to take over your Telegram account.
- Lookalike names. Swapped letters, such as a capital I for a lowercase l, trick the careless.
Rules that save money
- Never connect a wallet for a "check" to enter a chat.
- Do not paste commands from a bot into a terminal.
- Never share an SMS code or your two-step password.
- Compare the bot's exact name with what the project's official pages list.
- Enable two-step verification in Telegram settings.
Buy tracking: why, and the caveats
A buy feed creates a feeling of motion around a token. But it is trade data, not advice to invest. Hype is often stoked by the projects themselves. 📈
Paid promotion in trending lists is also advertising. A token at the top is not necessarily reliable, and meme coins often lose nearly all their value.
Decide using your own analysis and put in only money you can afford to lose.
