About this App
The same token can trade at slightly different prices on different decentralized exchanges, and a large swap on one venue pushes the price against you. Rainbow Swap goes after exactly that problem by pulling liquidity into one window. 🌈
It is a swap aggregator on the TON blockchain, available as a Telegram mini app and on the web. The profile describes it as swapping any tokens at the best prices with low slippage, in one transaction.
One swap, several liquidity sources
A decentralized exchange is a pool of tokens that sets the price by formula. The bigger your swap relative to the pool, the further the price moves from the one you saw. That drift is slippage.
An aggregator looks at several popular TON venues at once and splits the order across routes. Part of the amount may go through one exchange and part through another, while you sign a single transaction.
In the project's own example, splitting a trade between two venues returned a bit more of the target token. The gain is small, but on large amounts it adds up.
Network fees count too
The route with the best price is not always the best result, because every extra hop costs gas. According to the project, the aggregator accounts for this and drops a route when the added fees eat the gain.
That means on small amounts the outcome may be close to swapping directly on one exchange. Aggregation pays off more on bigger orders and thinly traded tokens.
What a swap looks like
- Open the mini app with /start or the button in the profile.
- Connect a TON wallet. The app does not hold your keys: you sign the transaction in your wallet.
- Pick a token pair and enter the amount. The app shows the expected result and the route.
- Check slippage and fees, then confirm in the wallet.
Read the confirmation screen in the wallet itself, not only in the app. The contract address and amount should match what you expect.
Open source and the team behind it
The front end and smart contracts are published openly and maintained by a team called Blackbot. Open code does not guarantee bug-free software, but it lets independent developers inspect the logic.
A dedicated routing contract lets a swap pass through two different exchanges in one transaction. That is the technical basis of the aggregation.
Risks worth knowing first
Swapping tokens is a financial operation and you carry the responsibility. An aggregator finds a good price, but it cannot protect you from a token losing value.
- Thin liquidity. Anyone can create a token and a pool. A nice quote in the app does not mean you will be able to sell the token back.
- Slippage tolerance. Set it too high and the trade can execute at a poor price. Keep it low.
- Fake copies. Telegram is full of bots with similar names. Enter through the link in the project's official channel.
- Recovery phrase requests. No genuine app asks for your wallet's secret phrase in a chat.
Do not put in money you cannot afford to lose. There is no income promise here, and there cannot be: the app only helps you exchange one token for another.
Who it fits
People who already use a TON wallet and swap tokens regularly. A newcomer should first try a small test swap and see how the fee and slippage show up on screen.
