Postal: a Channel Posting Bot

Bot • Auto-posting

About this App

A post has to go live at eight in the morning, and you are still asleep. Or a link in an old publication died and fixing forty posts by hand sounds miserable. Postal is made for these channel admin chores. 📮

The bot manages publications in Telegram channels: scheduled release, repeats, link swaps and edits to posts that are already live. The interface comes in Russian and English.

What Postal does

The set is small, but it covers what eats the most time for people who run channels.

  • Scheduled posting. Prepare a post in advance and it goes out at the chosen time.
  • Auto repeat. A publication returns to the feed on a schedule, handy for recurring features and reminders.
  • Link replacement. Change an address in already published posts without editing each one manually.
  • Edits after release. Fix a typo or an outdated price in a live post.
  • Several channels. Manage publications for different channels from one place.

Connect a channel in five minutes

Postal works as a channel administrator, so it needs rights. For correct work you grant message management and story management.

  1. Open the bot and press /start.
  2. Add it to your channel as an administrator.
  3. Grant the needed rights. Enable the message and story permissions.
  4. Create the first post and choose when it goes out.

If something goes wrong along the way, /cancel stops the current action and /start restarts the bot.

Why a channel should schedule

Regularity beats inspiration. Readers get used to a certain time and expect you there, and a channel with steady activity looks alive to newcomers.

Scheduling lets you prepare a week of content in a single evening. You write calmly with no feed to distract you, and the posts go out on their own. 🗓️

Link replacement, a quiet nerve saver

A channel with history always piles up stale links: a partner program changed, a site moved, a promo ended. Fixing them by hand takes hours, and you always miss something.

A bulk swap in published posts solves it in one go. Still, check the new link before you start, so you do not spread a mistake across the whole feed.

Admin rights and safety

Any bot with admin rights can see and change your channel's posts, so be careful.

  • Minimum rights. Grant only what the work needs.
  • Check the name. Popular services have many clones, so connect a bot only from the project's official page.
  • Review your admin list. Once a month look at who has access and remove what you do not need.

Who benefits

Admins and bloggers who run one or several channels and want to save time on routine. The bot has around 55 thousand users, and the project has its own news channel and support.

For a personal channel with a couple of hundred readers, the built-in Telegram scheduler may be enough. Postal makes sense once you need repeats, link swaps and more than one channel.

The /cancel command stops the current action and /start restarts the bot. That helps if you got stuck on a setup step. Publications you created earlier stay where they are.
