About this App

By the end of the month the money has gone somewhere and you cannot say where. On a trip with friends someone paid for the taxi, someone for dinner, and now nobody remembers who owes whom. Monesto handles both problems right inside Telegram: personal expense tracking and a shared tab for a group. 🧾

Two jobs in one app

The first is keeping a personal budget. You log income and expenses and see how much went out in a month. The second is splitting costs with others. You create a group, add people, record shared payments and see who owes what.

The bot works together with a mini app. The mini app has the full set of features, and the bot is for quick entries. There is nothing to install. 📱

Logging in five seconds

The bot has a /trx command for quick entries. Just send how much you spent and on what, and the transaction is created.

A sample message: "350 coffee". No need to open a spreadsheet and hunt through a long category list. The habit of logging at once, while the receipt is in your hand, solves most of the problem: whatever is not recorded immediately is forgotten by evening. ⚡

What the app can do

  • Personal expenses and income: simple entry and monthly summaries.
  • Group budgets: shared spending with friends, family or flatmates.
  • Analytics: a visual picture of where the money goes.
  • Auto categories: transactions are sorted into categories automatically.
  • Receipt scanning: items from a receipt can be split between participants.
  • Multiple currencies: handy when travelling.

The interface is available in several languages, including English and Russian. 🌍

Splitting a trip without arguments

Money in a group spoils the mood more often than it seems. Clear records from day one remove awkward conversations.

  1. Create a group at the start of the trip and add everyone.
  2. Log every shared purchase at once and note who paid.
  3. If the shares were uneven, state each person's part.
  4. At the end of the trip, look at the total and settle debts with one or two transfers.

That way you will not have to compare memories and receipts a week later when everyone has gone home.

Simple rules for a personal budget

Any tracking app works only if it gets used. Start with the minimum: record everything for a month without changing a thing. Then look at the numbers.

  • Fixed costs: housing, food, transport, phone.
  • Flexible costs: cafes, clothes, entertainment.
  • Savings: set aside at least a small share right after you get paid.

Once you see where the money goes, trimming the excess is easier than guessing. 📊

Data and privacy

In the app you keep details of your own finances and of your friends' spending. Do not record card numbers, passwords or codes. Amounts, categories and short notes are enough for tracking. 🔒

Before adding people to a group, get their consent: everyone may have reasons not to show their spending.
