MemoCard: Flashcards for Memory

Mini App • Language Learning

About this App

You learned forty words, and a week later you remember ten. Familiar story: the brain discards what it does not revisit. MemoCard fights that with spaced repetition right inside Telegram. 🧠

It is a flashcard mini app: a question on one side and an answer on the other. The app decides when to show a card again, and it does so right when you start forgetting.

The forgetting curve and why flashcards work

The bot description says up to 60% of new information can slip away within an hour, and only about 10% may remain by the end of a week. Exact figures depend on the material and the person, but the trend holds: without review, knowledge fades fast.

Regular revisits slow that down. Each successful recall pushes the next review further out.

What MemoCard offers

  • Decks and folders. You can create unlimited cards, decks and folders.
  • A catalog of ready decks. You do not have to write everything yourself and can start from a premade set.
  • Daily reminders. The app tells you which cards are due for review.
  • Streaks and a heatmap. You can see how regularly you study.
  • AI. Cards and decks can be created with a neural network and also voiced.
  • Freezing and formatting. You can set a card aside for a while and style the text your way.

The interface comes in several languages. The app runs in Telegram, in a browser and on phones.

How to study with it

  1. Open MemoCard and create a deck or take a ready one.
  2. Add cards: a word and its translation, a date and an event, a term and its definition.
  3. Every day, go through the cards the app suggests reviewing.
  4. Rate yourself honestly: remembered or not. That decides when the card returns.

Ten minutes a day beat two hours once a week.

Writing a good card

One card equals one fact. Three-paragraph answers are hard to memorize and quickly become tiresome.

  • Phrase the question so that it has one clear answer.
  • Add a usage example to a word: meaning sticks more easily.
  • Make cards yourself: the act of creating is already memorizing.
  • Delete or rewrite cards you keep forgetting.

What you can learn

Foreign words and grammar, dates and events, medical terms, legal definitions, traffic rules, formulas and cities. Any material that splits into question and answer pairs.

The method is great for facts, but it does not replace understanding. Work through hard topics first, then turn them into cards.

About data and open code

The developer says he built MemoCard because existing apps felt clunky, and the project source code is open. That makes it easier to check how everything works. 🔓

For personal study, remember: do not store passwords or other people's personal data in cards. Whatever you enter into a cloud app sits on the service's servers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is spaced repetition?▼
It is a method where a card returns after longer and longer gaps: first after a day, then after several days, and so on. The review lands just as you start to forget, so memory sticks better.
What can I study in MemoCard?▼
Languages, history and any other subject that splits into questions and answers. You can build decks yourself, pick ready ones from the catalog or generate cards with a neural network.
Which devices does it work on?▼
MemoCard runs as a Telegram mini app, in a browser and on phones. The interface comes in several languages.
How do I keep going past the first week?▼
Study ten minutes a day and turn on daily reminders. Watch your streak and heatmap: when you can see an unbroken chain of days, skipping feels wrong.
