About this App
Moving to Vilnius, heading to Kaunas for the weekend, or simply charmed by the Lithuanian language? Words slip away and the textbook sits in your bag. LitCards opens right in Telegram and turns vocabulary into flashcards. 🇱🇹
It is a Mini App for learning Lithuanian words. The /start command sends you the link to the app, and everything else happens inside it.
Card, swipe, next word
The interface is simple: a word appears, you recall the translation, you swipe the card away. No long lessons, no questionnaires. Five minutes in a queue is enough.
Quick swiping and progress tracking show what you already know and what keeps slipping.
Both directions: Lithuanian and English
The app drills translation both ways. Recognizing a word when you read it is easier than producing it when you need to speak. That is why practicing in each direction pays off.
The prompts are in English, so you need at least reading-level English to use it.
Themes you can use tomorrow
- Home. Furniture, rooms, daily routine.
- Shopping. Stores, prices, polite phrases.
- Medical. Words for the pharmacy and the doctor's office.
- A2 level. Vocabulary for the basic exam threshold.
- Textbook vocabulary. Sets by lesson if you study from a book.
Pick the theme that matches your day. Open the medical set before a clinic visit, the shopping set before a store run.
Spaced repetition, no magic
The method is plain: a word you recall easily comes back less often, and a word you forget returns sooner. Memory stops wasting time on what it already knows.
Results depend on regularity. Ten minutes every day beat two hours once a week. ⏱
What the project says about itself
The project has its own website, and the app is available on several platforms, Telegram included. The site states that the app is free and holds more than 2,500 words across 12 themes. Check the numbers inside the app yourself.
Lithuanian is a demanding language: cases, stress patterns, long and short vowels. Flashcards alone will not give you fluent speech, so add listening and live practice.
Who it suits
Travelers who need a hundred useful words before a trip. People who moved and face shops, pharmacies and neighbors every day. Students preparing for a basic exam.
It also suits anyone who dislikes installing yet another app: a Mini App takes no space on the phone and opens where you already spend your day. 📱
Getting the most out of a month
- Choose one theme and finish it before jumping to another.
- Study at the same time each day, for example after coffee.
- Say each word aloud before you reveal the answer.
- Revisit old cards once a week.
Build short sentences from the words you learn and save them in your notes. A word in a sentence sticks better than a word on its own. 📝
