A lesson library inside a chat

This is the official bot of the Telegram channel "Tudo com Excel" (roughly "Everything with Excel"). What the channel publishes is sorted into sections in the bot, so you do not have to dig through an endless feed to find a lesson.

The content is aimed at people who use Excel every day: accountants, managers, students and analysts alike.

What is in the menu

After you tap Start, a menu opens with the main sections.

• Materiais. Materials for practice and download.
• Informações. Information about the project and its author.
• Contato. A way to reach the team.
• Pedidos. A requests section where you can ask for a lesson or topic.
• Desafio Excel. An Excel challenge for testing your skills in practice.

Portuguese for Excel: a bonus or a barrier

If you read Portuguese, the bot covers nearly everything. If you do not, do not be discouraged: function names in the Brazilian version of Excel are translated, but the logic is the same, and the screen of the instructor still shows cells and columns you recognise.

It is also vocabulary practice: words like "planilha", "fórmula" and "tabela dinâmica" stick when you use them on real work. 🇧🇷

Function names change with the language

A common snag when learning from foreign material: function names differ between the language versions of Excel. In the Russian version, for example, SUM appears as СУММ, and the argument separator may be a semicolon instead of a comma.

So keep the lesson and your own spreadsheet in the same interface language. If they differ, look up the translated name in the program's own help.

Learn by doing, not only by watching

1. Repeat on your own data. Open a blank workbook and reproduce the steps alongside the lesson.
2. Start with one problem. Pick what hurts at work, such as pivot tables or conditional formatting.
3. Save templates. Turn a good file into a starting point for future reports.
4. Ask for a topic. If the lesson you need is missing, write in the requests section.

Be careful with files from others

When you download materials, open only xlsx spreadsheets and keep macros disabled unless you trust the source. A macro in a file can do almost anything on your computer, and lessons rarely need them. 🔒
