A status people actually notice

An emoji status is the tiny icon to the right of your name. It shows up in chat lists, group chats and your profile, so people see it before they read a word you wrote.

Telegram lets you set it for an hour, a couple of days or indefinitely. Since late 2024, mini apps can suggest a status through a native pop-up, and you confirm the change yourself. No bot can swap it behind your back without your permission.

From photo to emoji in four steps

Start. Tap /start and pick what you want to make: emoji or a status.
Send a picture. Square images with one big subject in the middle work best.
Grab the pack. The bot sends you a link. One tap adds the set to your emoji panel.
Wear it. Open your profile, tap the icon next to your name and choose an emoji from your new set.

Tiny canvas, big rules

A Telegram custom emoji is exactly 100 by 100 pixels. That is smaller than a fingernail on screen, so fine details and long captions simply vanish.

Contrast wins. A bright subject on a transparent or plain background reads best.
Zoom in. A face or logo should fill most of the square.
Skip the text. One short word might survive. A sentence will not.

Channel owners can use this for recognizable branded emoji ✨ Subscribers with Premium will be able to drop them into comments.

Changed your mind? Wipe it

The set the bot creates for your account belongs to you. You can delete it completely with /delpack in Telegram's official sticker bot, or simply remove it from your panel in sticker and emoji settings.

If you ever gave the bot permission to manage your status, you can revoke it in the bot's settings inside Telegram. After that, only you change your status 👍

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Telegram Premium to use Emoji Love?▼

No subscription is needed to create your own emoji set. Sending custom emoji in regular chats and wearing one as a status next to your name both require Premium. Without it, your emoji still work in Saved Messages and in groups where admins pinned the set using boosts.

How do I set my custom emoji as a status?▼

Add the pack through the link the bot sends, then open your profile and tap the icon next to your name. Scroll to your set and pick an emoji. You can also choose how long it stays, for example 1 hour or 2 days.

Why does my emoji look blurry or unreadable?▼

Telegram shrinks every custom emoji to 100 by 100 pixels, so small details get lost. Use a square image where the subject fills almost the whole frame, remove the background and drop long text. Then create the pack again.

How do I delete a pack or remove my status?▼

To hide a pack, open Settings, then Stickers and Emoji, and remove the set from the list. To delete it for good, send /delpack to Telegram's official sticker bot and pick the set. To clear your status, tap the icon next to your name in your profile and reset it.
