Kasper: chat manager bot

In an active chat of a hundred people an admin needs three hands: one bans spammers, one hands out warnings, and one starts a contest so nobody gets bored. Kasper | Chat Manager (Каспер) covers all three. It is a multi-function helper for group chats with moderation and entertainment. 👻

The main trait: you can control it with ordinary words, as in a conversation. There is no need to memorize long slash commands.

How to talk to the bot

Commands work with a "!" or "." prefix, with the name "Каспер" as an address, and many work with no prefix at all. You point to a user by tag, ID or by replying to their message.

A period is a number plus a unit of time. For example, "мут 2 дня" (mute for 2 days) silences a member for two days.

Moderation: ban, mute, warn

• Punishments. Ban with a period, kick, mute and removal of these restrictions.
• Warnings. Issue a warn and reset all warns, plus a warn limit and its duration.
• Pinning. Pin and unpin a message by replying to it.
• Reports. Members can call admins with the /report command.
• Joins and leaves. You can enable notices about who came and went.

Moderators can be assigned in levels from zero to five, and you can invent names for the ranks. A small chat needs a couple of admins, while a big one benefits from split rights.

Protection from bots and spam

The bot has a captcha for newcomers with an adjustable answer time, and an antispam that turns on with one command. For protection to work it needs rights to ban members and delete messages.

The antispam status can be checked with a separate command. That is handy when the chat suddenly turns noisy. 🛡️

Games that wake up a chat

A chat without a reason to talk quickly goes quiet. Games supply the reason.

• Tic-tac-toe. Challenge a specific member.
• Slots, dice and blackjack. Games for internal coins.
• Rock, paper, scissors. A duel between members.
• Crocodile. One person shows a word, the others guess.
• Fillwords. Finding words in a grid of letters.

Bets in these games use in-game coins, not money. If teenagers are in the chat, agree that real-money betting is banned. 🎲

Profiles, marriages and the farm

Each member has a profile: nickname, birthday, city, balance and property. Coins can be transferred between members, and there are also a shop and a farm.

Next come role-play features: marriages and relationships between members, ready actions like "hug" and custom role-play lines. For friendly chats this gives lots of jokes and shared traditions.

Ratings and awards

Members raise or lower each other's reputation with a plus or minus. The bot keeps top lists for reputation and activity, as well as statistics for a period.

Admins give awards of one to eight levels and can remove them. It motivates people who help in the chat. 🏆

Where to start in your chat

1. Add the bot and make it an administrator with rights to ban and delete messages.
2. Turn on captcha and antispam to close the door to unwanted guests.
3. Set the warn limit and a greeting for newcomers.
4. Show members a couple of games and the call command: it is enough to write "Каспер" or "пинг".
