Beecon: Web3 community assistant

A project chat grows while real conversation shrinks: people arrive for a giveaway and vanish. Beecon is built as an assistant for the admin of a Web3 community. It calls itself the first Web3 community management bot on Telegram. 🐝

It works like this: you add the bot to a chat or channel as an admin, and it takes over the routine.

Four jobs for the bot

The description adds a promise of "much more", but specifics are better checked in the bot itself.

Connecting it to a chat

1. Add the bot to the chat as an admin.
2. Grant the needed rights. Only the necessary ones: give the power to delete and ban members knowingly.
3. Open /help and see which commands are available.
4. Launch the first activity on a small group and judge the result.

Rewards without distortion

A reward system works well when it encourages useful things: answers to newcomers, on-topic memes, translations. If you pay for every message, the chat turns into a dump of plus-ones.

Think through exactly what earns points and add limits. Then the ranking stays fair. 🏆

Be careful with airdrops and giveaways

Handouts attract many people, but often for the reward rather than the project. After the campaign ends, such an audience leaves.

Advice for participants: do not connect a wallet to dubious sites, do not share a seed phrase and do not pay "to take part". For organizers: describe the rules openly and promise no token price. ⚠️

Keeping people after the giveaway

A giveaway brings in new members in a day, but keeping them is harder. Right after they join, say in the chat what the community does and which rules apply.

Run ordinary discussions, polls and breakdowns of project news, giveaways alone. Then the people who stay are those interested in the topic, and the reward matters less.

Once a week look at the activity ranking and thank the most helpful members in public. It costs less than any giveaway and lasts longer. 💬

Watch out for spam bots too: in chats with rewards they appear first. Turn on filters and checks for new members, and do not hesitate to remove those who break the rules. Honest members will feel calmer.

Who it suits

Admins of crypto and NFT projects who run a chat with an active audience. For small local communities, this set of tools is most likely excessive.

Before launching, decide what success means to you: member count, number of messages or real purchases and actions. That tells you which metrics to watch and which activities to run. Without a clear goal the bot becomes a source of noise.

Start with one activity per week, see who took part and only then add the next. You will quickly notice what works and what merely creates the look of motion.
