AnonyFriend: Chat Anonymously

Some evenings you want a real conversation, but texting people you know feels like too much. You want someone new, with no shared history and no awkward silences. AnonyFriend is built for that: the bot picks a random chat partner and lets you talk anonymously. 👋

Its own description calls it a bot for chatting with random friends. It makes no promise of serious networking or lasting relationships.

Seven commands, no complicated menu

Everything runs on commands. There are only a few, and each name explains itself.

• /find. Looks for a friend or chat partner. This is where you begin.
• /end. Stops the conversation when you are done.
• /about_me. Shows your own profile in the bot.
• /about_my_partner. Shows the profile of whoever you are talking to.
• /notifications. Messages from the bot's developer.
• /help and /about. Help and general information about the bot.

Profiles are what set this bot apart from the simplest anonymous chats, where you just get a nameless stranger.

What a first conversation looks like

1. Send /find. The bot searches for a free person and reports back.
2. Check /about_my_partner. You will see whatever the other person chose to show.
3. Say hello with a question. A bare "hi" rarely grabs anyone. Ask about music, shows, or weekend plans.
4. Finish with /end. If you want someone else, send /find again.

Before you start, look at what your profile holds with /about_me. Leave out any detail you would not want a stranger to read.

Anonymity without the myths

Your partner does not see a link to your Telegram account until you send one. A bot still sits between you, and every message passes through it. Users usually cannot check how the service owner handles that data. 🔍

The practical rule is simple: in an anonymous chat, write only what you would be fine with strangers seeing.

Things to know before you talk

• Keep real details private. Address, school, workplace, phone number, and payment information stay with you.
• Do not open unknown links. Random chats are a popular channel for phishing and ads for shady channels.
• Do not send money. Any request for a transfer, "investment", or "guaranteed win" from a random person is almost always a scam.
• Do not send personal photos. A photo cannot be taken back once it is sent.
• Remember you can leave. If the chat turns unpleasant, /end closes it immediately.

What this kind of chat is good for

An anonymous friend is handy for light conversation with no consequences. You can talk about movies, ask for music tips, practice a foreign language, or simply vent. 🙂

It will not replace real friends. When the chat ends, finding the same person again is usually impossible unless you chose to swap contacts.

If a match takes too long

The bot pairs you with people who are searching at the same moment. When few people are online, for example late at night, the wait gets longer. Give it a few minutes and send /find again. If the bot stays silent, look at /help or /notifications, where the developer may have left a message.

Children and teenagers should use chats like this with a parent's knowledge. Random partners sometimes have bad intentions, and anonymity works in their favor.
