Alert Bot: Reminders in Chat

Sobre o aplicativo

You promised to call your mom tonight, a document has to go out tomorrow, and a trial period ends next week. Keeping it all in your head does not work. Alert Bot handles it inside the messenger: one command and a reminder lands in your chat. ⏰

One command instead of a calendar

Alert Bot creates simple alerts and reminders. Its main command is /alert: you say how long to wait and add a text. The bot sends the message to the same chat where you created it.

There are no menus, forms or sign-ups. That helps when you need to capture a thought before it slips away.

How to set the time

You can give the delay in minutes, hours, days or weeks. Examples are 23m, 3h, 5d or 2w. An exact unix timestamp also works.

  1. Open the bot and press start.
  2. Send the /alert command with a time and your reminder text.
  3. Note the ID the bot gives to the scheduled message.
  4. Wait for it to fire at the chosen moment.

Minutes work for quick things like taking a pizza out of the oven. Days and weeks fit tasks planned for later. 🍕

Changed your mind? Cancel by ID

If you no longer need a reminder, use /cancel and give the ID of the scheduled message. The bot removes it from the queue.

The /help command lists everything the bot can do. There are only three commands, so learning them takes about a minute.

What it is good for

  • Personal errands. Call someone, pay a bill, take medication.
  • Small work tasks. Send a report, check a client's reply, join a call.
  • Deadlines. Subscription renewals, due dates, a friend's birthday.
  • Study. Review a topic after a day and again after a week.

The bot is built for simple one-time tasks. It does not replace a calendar with repeating events, subtasks and tags, and it does not try to. 📅

Making sure you actually see the reminder

A chat reminder only works if notifications are on. Check that the bot's chat is not muted and that your phone allows Telegram alerts.

Write the text so it still makes sense a week later. The word "check" tells you nothing, while "check if the client's payment arrived" saves time.

For truly important things like loan payments or a flight, do not rely on a single source. Copy the reminder into your phone calendar as well. That is ordinary caution with any simple tool. 🔔

A small bot with a long history

Alert Bot is one of the early bots that Telegram talked about when it launched its bot platform. The idea has stayed the same since then: you set a time and a text, and the bot sends the reminder.

If you want a personal assistant with task lists and syncing, look at full organizer apps. If you need a quick timer without extras, this bot is enough.

Perguntas frequentes

How do I create a reminder in Alert Bot?▼
Send the bot the /alert command, then a time and your text. The time is a delay such as 30m, 3h, 5d or 2w, or a unix timestamp. The bot posts the message in the same chat when the moment comes.
How do I cancel a reminder?▼
Use /cancel and give the ID of the scheduled message. The bot assigns the ID when you create the reminder, so save it if you think the plan might change.
Can I trust it with important reminders?▼
For payments, trips and anything costly to miss, copy the reminder into your phone calendar too. Any simple tool can fail, and Telegram notifications are easy to mute by accident.
How is Alert Bot different from a calendar?▼
It is a fast way to set a one-time reminder with a single command in chat. The command list has no repeating events, task lists or cross-device sync, so for those you need a regular organizer.
