About this App
Stock Telegram themes get dull, and nobody wants to pick dozens of colors by hand for the background, chat bubbles and buttons. Themes Bot does that for you: you send a photo, and the bot builds a theme out of it. 🎨
The bot works in English and fits Android and Telegram Desktop. The photo can be anything: a sunset, a pet, an album cover or a snapshot from a trip.
How it works
The idea is that theme colors are taken from your picture. The theme matches the image, so the interface looks cohesive instead of a set of random shades.
- Open the bot and send /start.
- Choose /create to build a theme for Android or desktop.
- Send the photo that will be the base.
- Get the theme file and apply it in Telegram's appearance settings.
If you already have a theme and need a version for another platform, /convert helps. 🔄
Every command in the bot
- /create. Make a theme for Android or Desktop.
- /convert. Convert an existing theme between platforms.
- /limit. Show how many generations remain.
- /profile. Open your profile.
- /language. Change the language.
- /feedback. Send feedback if the bot goofs.
- /help. A hint on how to use it.
The /limit command tells us the number of generations is capped. The bot shows how many you have and how they refresh, so do not spend attempts on random shots. ⚡
Which photo makes a good theme
The result depends on the picture, so choose with care.
- Calm tones. If a photo is a riot of colors, the theme may come out messy.
- Contrast. Text must stay readable on the background. A very light picture with white text is hard on the eyes.
- One accent. A photo with a single bright color gives a theme with a clear button and highlights.
- Good quality. A sharp image without noise gives a tidier result.
If you do not like the result
Try another shot, or crop this one so only the colors you want remain. Sometimes it helps to darken or lighten the photo slightly in any editor.
If the bot makes an error or stops replying, write through /feedback. It makes the authors' job of fixing the problem easier. 💬
A theme for the mood and the hour
You can make several themes and switch them as needed: a light one for the day, a dark one for the evening, a calm one for work. Pictures with deep blue and gray tones suit the evening well, since they tire the eyes less.
You do not have to send a personal photo. Any nice scenery or texture will do. 🌅
Safety and privacy
Send the bot only photos you would not mind a third party seeing. There is no need to send pictures of documents, bank cards or intimate images.
Apply a theme file only from your chat with the bot itself. Do not accept "themes" from strangers in private messages, because files from unknown sources can be anything. 🔒
A quick start
Send /start, then /help for a short guide. For a first attempt take a simple photo with soft colors. Check the remainder with /limit and keep a theme you like so you do not have to create it again.
Try a few variants for light and dark mode. That is how you find a theme you will not want to change. 🌙
