Telegram File Renamer Bot

Renamer X: Rename Telegram Files

Bot • Converters & Files

About this App

You downloaded a movie and the file name is a mess of letters, dots and a promotional address. Or you collected a playlist where every track is labeled differently. Renamer X sends the file back with a proper name, and you never leave Telegram.

The bot works with video, audio and ordinary documents. Next to renaming, it has captions, thumbnails, conversion and a fancy text generator.

The commands you will use

The bot menu is short and clear. Here is what it includes:

  • /rename. Rename video and other files.
  • /audios. The same for audio files.
  • /convert. Convert files and video.
  • /caption, /scaption, /dcaption. View, set and delete your own caption for files.
  • /thumbnail, /sthumbnail, /dthumbnail. View, set and delete your own cover image.
  • /fancytxt. Turns plain text into a stylized font.
  • /settings and /accounts. Bot settings and your account details inside it.

The /start command checks that the bot responds. Its menu label jokes about whether the bot is alive or dead.

Rename a file in a minute

  1. Open the bot and start it. If it answers, it is running.
  2. Send a file. Video, audio or a document will do.
  3. Pick a command. Use /rename for video and documents, /audios for music.
  4. Type the new name. Keep the extension, such as .mp4 or .mp3, if the bot does not add it for you.
  5. Take the result. The bot returns the file under its new name.

Set a caption and cover once

The handy part of bots like this is that the caption and thumbnail can be saved. Set them once with /scaption and /sthumbnail and they get applied on their own. No retyping a description every time.

That helps if you run a channel or share clips with friends. Every file looks the same, and the caption can hold your own hashtags or a short note.

Music and a tidy library

A separate audio command makes the bot useful for music lovers. If tracks arrive named like track_01_final, you may want to turn them into artist and title before passing them on.

Clean names help search too. In Telegram, a file is easier to find when its name describes what is inside.

A word about privacy

Every file you send passes through the bot's server. Do not forward documents with passport data, contracts or private photos. For everyday video and music the risk is small, and for confidential material a local program on your computer is the better choice.

File size and processing speed depend on the bot's settings and its load. If a large file hangs, wait a bit and send it again.

When the bot goes quiet

Send /start first. If there is no answer, the bot may be overloaded or temporarily offline. Try again in a few minutes. If it still fails, rename the file another way, for example on your computer, and upload it to Telegram again 🙂

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I rename a file with the bot?▼
Send the bot a file, pick /rename for video and documents or /audios for music, then type the new name. The bot sends the file back under that name. Keep the extension so the file opens the way it did before.
Can I set my own caption and thumbnail?▼
Yes. Use /scaption for the caption and /sthumbnail for the thumbnail. You can check what is saved with /caption and /thumbnail, and remove it with /dcaption and /dthumbnail.
Is it safe to send files to a bot?▼
The bot receives every file you send it. That is fine for ordinary music and video, but avoid forwarding documents with personal data. Rename those on your own device instead.
What if the bot does not respond?▼
Send /start to see if it is running. If there is no reply, wait a few minutes and try again. For longer outages, use another way to rename, such as a program on your computer.
